Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022
Anyone know what was going on there? They paid a fee for him. For a youngish player with a decent CV to drop from Eastleigh (big budget) to part time Dorking seems an odd one - unless he's got a non-football job that's meant FT football isn't an option any more.
Looked good for Eastleigh against us last season IMO.
Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022
Are Dorking still part-time? They were supposed to be switching from evening to morning training this season. Allegedly they paid £50k for Charlie Carter, so they're not quite the glorified village team that the media likes to suggest.Nonsense Potter wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 3:17 pmAnyone know what was going on there? I wish we had spent the daly money on him and not a striker from the National South...Lurker wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 3:45 pmAre Dorking still part-time? Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022
I’d be surprised if we make many worse decisions than spending £30k on a 4th choice striker who never scores.
Although maybe I’ll wait for the new manager announcement..

maybe under a new manager, he will improve.Cardbattery wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 10:54 pmPavey was horrendous business and everyone knew it at the time. Signing someone for a fee with no buzz is never a good start

historically it feels like we haven't always got the best out of our strikers. I really hope Pavey can make something of himself here. It's clear that we don't play to any strengths he may possess.wokingcardinal wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 2:28 pmmaybe under a new manager, he will improve.Cardbattery wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 10:54 pmPavey was horrendous business and everyone knew it at the time. Agree , Kabamba , Woking 3 goals Barnet last season 19 , already this season 14 , how many goal chances has Pavey spurned ?kansasCard wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 3:59 pmhistorically it feels like we haven't always got the best out of our strikers. He was quite shit for us. Whether that was due to fitness or attitude, he looked disinterested and missed a lot of sitters.

If only Sarll hadn't gone mental in summer 2023 and had made a proper effort to keep one of our most promising players.
