Stewards today
Also - what do the police at football grounds actually offer these days? Filming people from a distance to pretend they’re busy. Like they did at Aldershot on Boxing Day - watching people throwing coins while standing 50 feet away filming on a 1990’s camcorder leaving the stewards to stand inbetween everyone. Waste of space.
Re: Stewards today
What authority do they have to lay a hand on someone?
Like you say, police doing nothing while some little hitler in a high viz plays bully.
What were they even getting chucked out for? Couldn’t see anything particularly nasty going on

Re: Stewards today
Stewards physically removing kids is laughable, loads of other grounds manage the 90 without any issue and it’s the same fans!

Re: Stewards today
The kids being thrown out seemed the boisterous gang rather than trouble makers
* by grown up I mean their boss, and obviously not the bellowing gobshite going down to offer a full and Frank appraisal of their behaviour.

Re: Stewards today
They only did it cos it was teenagers. Can you imagine it if they tried that against a Millwall type adults? Would have probably caused a riot. It's like when 5 bouncers think they're hard because they throw punches at one 10 stone drunk guy who can barely stand up.Murph2762 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2024 6:16 pmThe stewards today were playing war games, kept rotating every 5 mins as though it was one great big fucking mission to keep a bunch of teenagers under control. All padded up, one had like protection on his back that moterbike racers have. They blew it all up by roughly man handling boys out the crowd & marching them out. it was embarrasing for them, they even slung a fan out for calling one of the security Gareth Bale, they claimed it was rascism,

My favourite was the bearded twat mock singing along with "if you wear a yellow jacket you're a c***" pretending he DEFINITELY wasn't annoyed.

Re: Stewards today
do the club get notified of the Woking fans that were ejected from the ground, and the reasons why. If so, and presuming the reasons were petty, are the club going to take it any further with Southend

Re: Stewards today
Doubt the club can do much. No doubt the fans chucked out breached ground regulations, no matter how trivial they are. It was brainless stewarding and caused more issues than it solved but they can sling you out for standing on a seat or swearing if they like.JAM wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2024 3:26 pmis there any news as to why the stewards on Saturday were so heavy handed.

I've seen stewards on the KRE threaten to kick fans out for swearing this season, it happens.
