Volunteers Needed

Post by Adz » Thu May 22, 2025 3:17 pm

We need you!

A message from Woking FC Volunteer Coordinator Derek Bicknell.

Hi everyone. I have now taken up the role of Volunteer Coordinator for the club and have the first few Volunteers join me as the 'Cards Crew' (What do you think of the name??
I have now documented over 20 Tasks for us to take on.
Some are fairly big and will need us to organise as a small work party, whilst some are more straightforward and can be completed ad hoc by one or two people.
Our first task involves a clear up behind the Chris Lane terrace, starting at 10am on Monday 26th (Yes, I know, but what better way to enjoy a Bank Holiday!)
If you can spare any time, over the summer months, to lend a hand as a Volunteer, there's lots we'd like to do to improve our enjoyment of matchdays at the LCS. Please send me a PM via Messenger, or call/text 07380729496, or email - [email protected]
Thanks again, Del.

Hello everyone.
The first Cards Crew work party will be at the ground tomorrow from 10am to around 1pm.
If anyone would like to come along and say hello, without any obligation to help out, then please do.
Many Thanks, Del.

Many thanks, Mossyboot. Glad to hear you enjoyed the work party.
Volunteering makes such a difference to the club. For instance....
In just a few hours, the Crew managed to extract the Pitch covers (Worth around £18k!!!) from their resting place, fold and roll them again, to make them accessible once more.
And we uncovered a perfectly good scaffolding tower that's going to come in very handy for tasks such as cleaning/repairing the gutters on the Family & Directors Stands.
I have documented over 20 tasks so far. Everything from weeding/painting/tidying to a bit of basic plumbing/woodwork/DIY.
Jobs for all, so if anyone can spare an hour or two, over the next couple of months, please drop me a line.
Many thanks, Del.

Hi everyone,

We will be holding regular Work Parties over the next six weeks to tackle the essential out-of-season tasks at the ground.
Annual painting, cleaning, and tidying tasks that will make Kingfield ready for us fans again, in August.

So, every Sunday 10am to 1pm and every Tuesday from 5pm to dusk, we're asking for any help you can offer.

Any time you can spare, no matter how much, will be truly appreciated.
If you can help, please drop a note to me at [email protected], or Call/Txt to 07380729496
You can find me on messenger - https://www.facebook.com/derek.bicknell/ or WhatsApp - wa,me/447380729496

Hi everyone, I'm here to beg!

As well as the more general tasks, I'm in need of a DIY handyman to work alongside me, for a few hours, in order to tackle some more challenging work. And anyone with experience as a painter/decorator.
I'm conscious of the ticking clock, and I confess there's too much for me to handle in time for the 1st home friendly on 15th July.

For the next 5 weeks, I will be keeping regular hours of attendance at the club, as follows:
Sun & Mon - 09:00 to 15:00
Tue - 16:00 to 21:00
Wed - 09:00 to 15:00
Thu - 16:00 to 21:00
Fri & Sat - I won't be there.

Please get in touch if you can spare an hour or two.
Many thanks. Del.

Me again...

Is there a plumber available who might be able to spare an hour or two?
Specifically, there are a couple of taps that aren't automatically shutting off and need servicing/replacing.
And a toiled cistern that's constantly filling/flushing that needs a PIR Flush control installed.

Thanks for any help and support.
