Stadium redevelopment could be on the Cards!
Re: Stadium redevelopment could be on the Cards!
A very slight hint maybe no? I recall something along the lines of ‘we won’t discuss anything until league stays is secured’. I’ll have to go back to the original interviews to check. Or maybe I imagined it. Would be fantastic if it did happen
Re: Stadium redevelopment could be on the Cards!
I think there was a mention of bigger plans for the club being unveiled once league status secured or did I imagine it?!!

Demolition won't no - you could probably get the Reception class from Kingfield Primary School to do it. Replacing it will though, as you'd really have to do the lot properly. It's not just a stand, it's changing rooms, physio room, catering (public and private), press box, directors area, hospitality boxes, club offices, toilets, bar, clubhouse, etc etc. Then there's Moaners itself to consider.Texas Dave wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 7:27 pmIt has always struck me that a decent gust of wind would blow down the monstrosity that is the family/directors stand so demolition shouldn't cost much.

I thought sale of the compound area by the council had gone away. Surely Todd wants it...?Cardinal96 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 2:34 pmClock's ticking. Once the compound site next door is developed it'll be almost impossible to redevelop that side of the ground as the new residents will have rights to light etc.

If we are ever going to take this football thing serious we do need to bin the old stands and redevelop
Need a flash new bar and some exec boxes - build it and fans and sponsors will spend the money. There is so much potential for our club.

Re: Stadium redevelopment could be on the Cards!
indeed but thats whats needed as a minimum! If we ever want to be a self funded (ish) league side thats what will be required. We have one of the biggest catchments with no other clubs in the country and no shortage of cash in surrey thats for sure.that would also take serious money
Otherwise we continue as we are and yoyo between the national and south
Build the support base and give those who have the cash (businesses and sponsors) ways to spend it.

I thought he was at least making enquiries about it. Could have that wrong thoughAmanda wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 4:14 pmI thought sale of the compound area by the council had gone away. But it must be adequate for football league standard otherwise not worth spending a lot of money to then change again in the future.. COYC

It’s been 7 years since the GolDev thing and Wayne Gold has probably still never successfully completed a development.
Maybe like Jarvis he’s just “been really unlucky”.

What's the alternative? As it stands, the club is worth very little because it owns very little of any value and can't generate enough revenue to pay the bills. Investing in infrastructure is the only way any investor is going to see a return.

It doesn’t seem that long ago Gold was caught flying his drone above Kingfield during the height of lockdown.Red and White Army wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 9:59 pmIt’s been 7 years since the GolDev thing and Wayne Gold has probably still never successfully completed a development.

What a mess that all was. The club got so sucked in by SWAG too. They really did a proper number on us.

I mean football accounting is very confusing but we have been spending the cash it would seem- i'm no expert but some off the field investment could go along way.On companies house now!
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ng-history
A 1.85m loss for 2023/24 taking total debts to just below £7 Million with a large portion of this due to Mr Volpe when the business has sufficient capital (Yeah sure) or as equity back in the business - pains me to imagine what that money could have achieved if used sustainably such as on the ground.
We need 7 days a week income , exec boxes, bars and food to draw people in early and stay late...... that's the priority. There is so much money is surrey , its how we tap in to it. Plus our catchment area is huge.
