Conte is as far removed from a substitute Berkhoe as you can imagine. Get rid, Walker flattered to deceive - adds. Nothing and when he moves he moves into our own players space, Get rid. Very frustrating as his old man was special. Leahy’s movement suggests there’s something about him. keep and see how he links with Inih. Denon was he playing? A time to shine and he spent his time thinking he was ON Case Amore. Got rid. Apparently a Jones played at left back. Bring back Josh Casey.

A useful game for NA. We can win this with the right personnel and judging by the 1st 4 games we have the right people ego make this happen. come on you cards
Jacob Jones is just so anonymous, never makes a tackle, never makes a break, never puts in a good pass or a cross, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up at counties level next season as I’m not even sure he can put together a highlights reel for a prospective club

Two goals and two assists is a funny kind of deceit!
Maybe he could be better with a bit more support and less ranting from our fans

Who gave Andrews MotM and why?!
Walker scored two and set up two which would make him the obvious choice.

Was it just me or was that penalty somewhat harsh?
And it was bloody freezing walking home!
Personally I thought Andrews (and maybe Leahy has he had some energy about him early on in the 1st half) were the only ones that looked like they could break into the 1st XI last night.

as for Walker, yes he scored 2, and the ball for the Leahy goal was a great pass, but he just doesnt do it for me. And it was a great pass back to the keeper from the penalty spot, which was kind of justice as it seemed a harsh penalty to give

Or maybe playing teams in the relegation zone of the league below is a better match for his level of ability?

Initial team sheet raised a few eyebrows, but it all worked out OK.
Not many shots to cheer in the first half, too much sideways stuff, so first goal was a big relief.
The second just before half time killed the game off.
Will made a couple of good saves.
Good to see fringe players get a game, especially Ince.
I know that Jones isn't rated on here but I didn't think he did much wrong as a full back.
Didn't notice Conte's contribution.
Harsh penalty? Big roar from KRE helped to swing it.
Ref was good; she was at Aldershot's 8-0 win.

I agree with the 1st 5 lines
The 3rd goal just after HT absolutely killed the game off, if there was any doubt
Jones doesnt fill me with confidence at the back, and doesnt offer much going forward either
Conte is a strange one. Cardiff fans seemed gutted that he had gone out on loan, but hasnt done much since hes been here. last night he started on the right, when he is a left winger, got tackled by the FB early on, and then didnt seem to fancy it after that. It also seemed strange to move him to RB when the subs were made

as for the ref, apart from the penalty im not sure she got anything wrong, she just seemed to be late making a number of decisions on fouls. As Skippy said earlier though, it was a pretty easy game to ref

Yes I did think as he wandered around aimlessly for 20mins, barely won a header, made no runs off the ball to create space and miscontrolled it when it came to him "If only we were shouting come on Lewis - that would turn him into Messi". Perhaps it's our fault he passed the penalty to the goalkeeper?

Anyway I think Ardley will have learned loads about those fringe players from last night's game. Wynter, Andrews, Ince all encouraging. Leahy looks bright but I'm just not sure he has all the components. We're stuck with Walker so little point complaining about it now. It baffles me how Jones got a contract. Conte got a kick early on and then spent the game hiding, if scouts from his parent club were there watching him not be able to roast a part time northern clogger full back I doubt they'd be too impressed. Dennon is what he is, looks like he's running quite fast but isn't, looks like he's near the play but isn't.

The important thing for the club was the result, the important thing for Ardley is he knows he needs to jettison three or four if he can.

Loved Ward’s celebration for his goal after their defender pretty much threw him into the net!

I wasn't there last night and I'm far from Walkers biggest fan but surely the bloke did his job yesterday and deserves a day off from criticism? Two goals and an assist. Looks like he won us the game in one that everyone thought would be a bogey when the lineup was announced.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him go out on loan for the rest of the season (at which point his contract is up) to somewhere like Wealdstone, where he still seems to be highly regarded.

To give him his due, the ball for the 1st goal was very good
He actually got the assist for Wards goal as well, though it was more of a fluffed chance to score himself
And the penalty was just awful

Im sure NA had done his homework on Radcliffe and made the changes that he made as he wanted to see what others could offer, to get some minutes into those that hadnt played, and that the line up was good enough to win the game. He also had the security of most of the XI being on the bench

Wandered around aimlessly but involved in all four goals?
He needs early ball, which we don’t do, and then there is little space around as we build up slowly against a high offside line.
Strikers need confidence, and getting moaned at by your own fans after scoring two and setting up the other two isn’t really helping.

So he doesn't fit our system then? Thanks for clarifying.

I'm not convinced it is the system rather than players like Gorman being slow on the ball (my god he was soooo slow moving the ball on last night)
What is Walker's role supposed to be in the system - if the ball always goes out wide but takes forever to get to the crossing bit then there is no space for a striker to make the runs that he supposedly isn't making.
I don't think he is a goalscorer for our level (as the stats show). I think he lacks the last move and arrogance of a finisher, but I dont think its due to a lack of effort so I think he has had more than his fair share of grief from the fans. Being a striker in a Doyle team was an utterly thankless task.

To be fair, a really sweet finish by Walker for his second. Generally, though, we can upgrade.

Radcliffe manager very complimentary on how good our movement off the ball was , and how much better we are than when the draw was made a month ago

Having won their game in the previous round on the Saturday, I would have thought they would have been in attendance for our game against H&W on the Tuesday.

Had MD been in charge, we wouldnt have won 4-0 last night, even with the 1st team out

Radcliffe manager: "In terms of the games we watched under the previous manager to what they are now, it's night and day."

I wonder what Doyle and Turner made of what was very much one of their XIs hammering a team in the league below compared to winning on penalties against an Isthmian Premier side.

Leahy made a run and was pointing and screaming where he wanted it and Walker ignored him. I was halfway through shouting "Oh for fuc.." which turned into "Great goal!" - ha! Actually enjoyed it again and I thought Andrews deserved MOTM taking over the role from Gorman in the previous match with a lot going via him. Looks to get forward and support the attacks too. Also saw a brass monkey run past crying at one point looking for a welder. Wem-Ber-Lee indeed!

Don't be fooled, he's after a new contract in the D. Lewis mould, before being shit again.
I have another 6 three year plans in me if I'm lucky.

I admire your faith, but surely one ok game against a relegation threatened team from the league below doesn't make a season.

Re: Walker, I'm far from his biggest fan and based on what I've seen, I'd be bitterly disappointed if he was here next season.

However, I am happy he has scored. He plays for us after all. If it means he can bring that goalscoring into league games, then brilliant. Sadly, from what I've seen his level is not NL, and very much NLS/NLN or even 1 step below.

In fairness, he has mostly played under Doyle, and not even Salah or Haaland would score that many under him, so if he gets a chance under Ardley in the league, he really needs to buck his ideas up. He is lazy.

In fairness to Meerkat, when you see the slo-mo behind the LGS for Walker's first, you see the true guile of the man to kick it against his own standing foot in order to send the keeper the wrong way. Some guys just have that magic dust.

Having seen the highlights the pen wasn't harsh, from my angle it looked like he had both hands in front of his face but his left arm is well out from his head.
