Cards Trust Quiz Night - Friday 22nd November

Post by Rio » Sun Sep 08, 2024 8:04 pm

Right then, considering I've had the date locked in for the last few weeks and have spent the last 4 hours putting quiz questions together, it's probably overdue that I get around to actually organising this properly.....

The annual Cards Trust quiz will be making its annual appearance on Friday 22nd November, hosted by resident compere Martin Oakley. Doors will open at 19:00 with the quiz starting at 19:30. Quiz teams are limited to 8 people per team, tickets cost £10 per person and will include a hot meal (imagine something similar to last year but I need to speak to Simon first - feedback and suggestions welcome). To accommodate the Cash is King society, we will be providing both cash and card payment facilities for the evening (the bar will be card exclusive, to clarify), ticketing details to follow.

The format of the evening, for those that haven't attended previously are loosely based on the following; 2*20 question handout rounds, one picture, one something else (ie quotes, cryptic clues etc), 6 individual 10 question rounds on various topics – sport, media and entertainment, music and general knowledge alongside two others.

There will be a raffle on the evening, if you are in a position to donate a raffle prize that would be greatly appreciated. All profit on the evening does directly to the Cards Trust and the football clubs playing budget.
For any questions or you would like to enter a team, please message me on here, email me on [email protected] or see me at a game.

Look forward to hosting. Cheers, John

Right then. I'm not going to lie, this absolutely hasn't gone how I was expecting it to....

Considering Doyle and co appear hellbent on trying to alienate and demoralise everyone whilst making 'The Kingfield experience' generally fucking miserable, we somehow are not far away from actually reaching our capacity!

Below are names of teams I believe I have entry proposals from - if this is correct/ incorrect/ a duplicate, please can you let me know.

1. Jayne Smith *8
2. Ben KV/ Simpson
3. Tom (TWR) Cardsboard
4. Nick Shaw
5. The Grumpy Gnome (KN)
6. Meerkat
7. Cards Trust - John Hooker
8. Nicola Donaghey/ KC Kitten
9. Craig Holder
10. Paul Griffin
11. David Legg
12. Graham Punter *8
13. Piper

No responses I'm aware of from repeat attendees Julie Tremble and Nev Knight.

I have emailed Adam earlier to get the online ticketing system set up. He has an out of office on until next week but I have asked him to share the link when the event has been created.

Any further questions - good bad or indifferent please send me a message/ email or post it on here and I will get back to you in due course.

Thanks, John

Unfortunately not. I can send you the quiz and you can see how you would do if you wish?
