Unless I'm mistaken... MK Dons did not take over Wimbledon's place in the league. MK Dons were Wimbledon. Wimbledon relocated in 2003. The MK Dons played under the Wimbledon name until the end of 2003-4 season. The name change prompted the reformation in 2004.
What rankled some/most supporters of Wimbledon was the move and the approval by the FA to allow it. do so. Therefore they founded a NEW club in 2002. The NEW club without a previous history - plays is Plough Lane It's like were arguing that a snickers bar is not a marathon.

As said previously, you’ve lived in The States too long.

BTW, Franchise FC do not even acknowledge their history now.
They gave back anything to do with Wimbledon FC to Merton Council.
Merton Council, rightly gave it back to the proper owners, AFC Wimbledon.

May well be the case. But ya canny change history. :-)

Just looking on Barnet's forum and they seem to be purring over the signing and performances of Maquire-Drew. I know Dowse let him leave but surely he is exactly the type of player we need right now. Can't really blame him for leaving b4 imo. It's so frustrating when u see Barnet improving there squad and u see how far backwards we have gone.

Judging by what I've heard from other clubs, I'd side with Dowse. Seems he becomes a cry baby to force moves

I think it was Sarls biggest mistake and he could still be manager if he had signed a proper 6 ft 2 number 9, in the summer . We got away with it last season having 3 small men up front , Dackers made them look better as he couldn’t jump and win a header ., but really, really paid for it this season.

Just want to say I completely agree with this assessment. And I think it's why the Pavey signing happened when it did - clutching at finding that one final jigsaw piece we hadn't really had since day 1 and he seemingly hadn't prioritised in the summer. Obviously we have desperately missed Daly this season but it isn't merely that loss.

The other key mistakes that either happened due to, or loaded the pressure on, not having such a player earlier - him playing Browne the final game of last season and getting injured (has hardly been the same player since), and over-playing an injured Ricky Korboa earlier this season in the absence of anyone else but Podge who could play off the front.

Obviously we couldn't rest everyone but Browne was absolutely on fire and was one of at least three or four who needed sitting the entire game. The others you're preserving you take off after an hour.

I stopped short in my above post, but I'd go as far as to say the situation with that kind of thing progressed in the last 10 months to the degree that I might even cast aspersions that he rushed back an Anderson or Kellermann, feeling they offer an outlet to get the ball to stick higher up, as well as offering a presence we were missing without Daly. I always gave Sarll the benefit of the doubt with signing injury prone players because the fact is on their day Wilkinson, and RGC, and Anderson, and Oyeleke, are all really bloody good players at this level. But you can't sign them with anything other than the mindset that you'll do everything possible to not then break them, and he seemingly couldn't resist that temptation.
