Likewise Edser is a talented , creative midfielder but lightweight and too often peripheral at NL level - with an occasional worldie to flatter. he was young though and will improve ...

Little offered much more physicality and energy and again had a worldie in him - probably not quite as creative. He was showing signs at the end of Torquays season of returning to his best. I would take him every time

Two good players at slightly different stages of their development. In two years, I don’t think there will be much between them, but I agree I’d prefer Little if he’s available.

Little has been offered a new deal by Torquay and is ‘in negotiations’ so we’ll have to see what happens with that

They must be able to offer more money than us, I'm guessing we would offer him a 2 year deal though, where Faulty Towers it just be a possible 1 year??

It's been suggested on their board that he'd only be offered a one-year deal due to his injury problems over the last couple of seasons, so we might be able to sway him with a two-year contract. Having said that, that added security normally appeals to older players.

We'd probably be more attractive in terms of location, and I suspect he'd be a lot more central (quite literally) to our plans. He seems to have been played out of position recently at Torquay, either on the left of midfield or in a deeper role. He really needs to be marauding up and down the centre of the pitch.

Having said all that, he might simply be using our interest to get a better deal out of Torquay.

Manny Parry has signed on for another year at Maidenhead. Doesn't look like Shaun Donnellan is included on their retained list.

Ismail Yakubu has joined Merthyr Town, so I will see him on 27th July. He must be bionic as his knees crumbled years ago.

Merthyr play on plastic, so that’ll be interesting.

He lives in the Bournemouth area, so must be worth his while driving all the way there then!!
Looking forward to see everyone again at Kingfield, soon.
Some interesting conversations will be had.

Nathan Baxter has joined Hull on loan today. Moving up the leagues after Accrington Stanley (who are they?) last season.

Jack Mariott signs a three-year deal at Peterborough. Will be cool when he heads in his first Joe Ward cross!

I won't be too disappointed with that. No idea if we were in for him or not, but he's only managed 30 odd games in 2 seasons with them and spent a spell out injured with us as well. A quality player for this level absolutely but we need someone who we can rely on to play 40+ games next season. There will be other players of his ilk out there.

I see where you’re coming from - but are we losing ourselves a LITTLE here?

A fully fit Armani is a key player for the second best team in the league. A fully fit Armani is probably the second best midfielder we’ve had at the club aside from a Championship level loan player we borrowed to help us with getting back to full fitness. We don’t stand a chance of getting Armani without the fitness issues. He would offer as good set piece delivery (but more than one goal) than Cooper, as well as creativity in open play, ball retention, tackling etc… at a level we didn’t have last season.

Our budget is mid table. Surely taking a risk on a player with some recent injuries, but a massive upside, is worth it? They put him in for their most important game of the season and he did well for 120 minutes.

I could understand your stance if we had a top three budget, but we don’t. Little would be a very ambitious calculated risk, that I’d be delighted about, if he were to sign.
