I won't be too disappointed with that. No idea if we were in for him or not, but he's only managed 30 odd games in 2 seasons with them and spent a spell out injured with us as well. A quality player for this level absolutely but we need someone who we can rely on to play 40+ games next season. There will be other players of his ilk out there.
I see where you’re coming from - but are we losing ourselves a LITTLE here?

A fully fit Armani is a key player for the second best team in the league. A fully fit Armani is probably the second best midfielder we’ve had at the club aside from a Championship level loan player we borrowed to help us with getting back to full fitness. We don’t stand a chance of getting Armani without the fitness issues. He would offer as good set piece delivery (but more than one goal) than Cooper, as well as creativity in open play, ball retention, tackling etc… at a level we didn’t have last season.

Our budget is mid table. Surely taking a risk on a player with some recent injuries, but a massive upside, is worth it? They put him in for their most important game of the season and he did well for 120 minutes.

I could understand your stance if we had a top three budget, but we don’t. Little would be a very ambitious calculated risk, that I’d be delighted about, if he were to sign.
I guess it's a fruitless argument now. And maybe there's an element of trying to convince myself as well. Again, not saying he's not a great player, just that there will be other options out there. There is a little bit of an obsession on here - and I'm guilty of it too - with signing former players/loanees. That's partly because Dowse often does it and partly because, understandably, knowledge of potential new players is generally limited to either a) they played for us before or b) they did well against us last season. One of the signings I'm most excited to see is Solomon Nwabuokei because I have no idea if he's any good, but everything I've read suggests he could be a great coup. That's not to compare the two, just to point out that there will be other players in that category too.

Much as I rate Little and would have no problem with him being a top earner with us, I think Glen also has a point: we don't fully know what is available and at what price yet... squads have only just really begun to take on a shape elsewhere. We might find a quality loanee as we have in those areas in the past who's cheaper and can be interchanged with a second striker or Kretzschmar, as and when a game allows. It'd be hard to say a player in that area of the pitch is 100% more valuable than a proven goal threat or even quality in other areas at the moment (A poacher? Right back? Wouldn't sniff at another winger who can perhaps also play a little deeper than a Loza or Johnson typically likes to.)

Hot off the press from Horndean where H&W beat their hosts 6-1, Godfrey Poku is expected to be back in action around Xmas time after his op, he is still the club captain apparently.

That’s quite some turnaround from going on trial for a Conference south club three seasons ago. Good luck to him.

Could the 'Domeraud' who scored the second for Malta's Hibernians FC in the Europa Conference be our former forward Wilfried Domeraud? If so, coming up to 33 now and seems to have had quite a few Clubs. Still more appearances for WFC than for most of them...

One of our more enterprising players in a team that really...wasn't.

I think, with a change of attitude and some additional strength/experience, there’s probably a decent footballer there. He was the wrong player at the wrong time for us - but he looked technically good and if he could play to his build (and actually hold off challenges/win headers), he might end up having a decent career.

For sure. You don't get contracts at Leeds and Watford if there's not a decent player in there somewhere. But a 2 year contract for a player who has scored 2 goals in 41 senior appearances and offered very little, by all accounts, in a Stockport team who created lots of chances and scored lots of goals, is a big risk for them. I have family from Southend and thus feel relatively invested in their bemusing choice of signing.
