Ex-Cards news, 18th May onwards

Post by Chobham Card » Tue May 18, 2021 2:38 pm

Retained lists are already being announced, we're desperate to crack on with next season, and the last one did upwards of 500,000 views - time to start this thread again.

Released
Joe McNerney has left Crawley.
Inih Effiong has been released by Stevenage.
Tyreke Johnson has been let go by Gillingham.
Paris Cowan-Hall has been released by Colchester United.
Sam Cartwright (if he counts) has been let go by Peterborough.
Sam Howes has left Dorking.

In talks
Charlie Carter is listed as "offered terms, still in discussions" with Stevenage over a new deal.
Nathan Ralph "will continue his rehabilitation with the club... assessed in pre-season" before potentially being offered a deal at newly-relegated Southend.

Signings
Charlie Hester-Cook, Nicky Wheeler and Gez have all been retained by Dorking.
Connor Hall (and Harry Cardwell, if he counts), will stay at Chorley.
Chez Isaac has signed on for Chelmsford. His fourth season there now.
Harvey Bradbury will stay at Oxford City.
Jake Gray and Charlie Wassmer (lol) have signed for Hampton & Richmond.
Alex Wall has moved from Concord to Havant.
Ollie Palmer has been retained by AFC Wimbledon.
Theo Lewis has joined Hungerford from Gosport.

From the top list, PCH, Joe Mac and Tyreke would be most welcome additions for next season.

Would take all bar Howes of those that have been released

Cardwell played for Stockport on BT on Sunday and didnt impress, which probably means he will score a hat trick on Saturday

Ben Dempsey has been offered a new deal by Charlton Athletic.

Sam Dalby will be released by Watford at the end of his current deal.

Anthony Cook has signed for Cray Wanderers.

Missed a couple of names at these clubs as well - Zach Robinson has signed on again for AFC Wimbledon (sounds like a deal longer than two years), and Niko Muir was part of that batch of signings at Hampton.

i know he's a current player, but Sam Ashford doesn't seem to appear on the retained, released or 'in negotiation' list for creepy.
do we know what the chances are of him coming to us?

His deal expires in 2022. I'd assume we'll ask Crawley about him, but I've no idea if we've got a realistic chance of getting him back or not.

Clarke & McNerney as our centre halves, now that would be a good start.

Bracknell have been on the rise and are paying very good money

But to some on here, Tarpey must be a Bracknell fan and fulfilling a lifelong dream

Might be a tough one for us: Kyron Lofthouse has been offered a new deal at Oxford. They've triggered a contract extension clause in Slavi Spasov's deal too.

Kadell Daniel's signed for Hampton. Quite the Woking B team there.

No reunion for the Effiong/Carter dream team - Charlie's staying at Stevenage.

ah well.. I do hope that we manage to snag a few players that clubs have offered terms / want to stay. Happy with what we have done so far - as long as they are players released from clubs above us and not below..... Stevenage fans appear to be very happy that he is staying. Charlie is doing well for himself, although it's evidently clear that he could do far better...
