Christmas-New Year’s record

Post by The Cardinal One » Sat Jan 02, 2021 11:11 pm

These are our results in the Boxing Day, mid-week, New Year’s Day fixtures:

06/07 - DWL
07/08 - LLL
08/09 - DDD
09/10 - DWW (National league south)
10/11 - WD (National league south)
11/12 - WW (National league south)
12/13 - LW
13/14 - L
14/15 - DLD
15/16 - WDW
16/17 - LL
17/18 - LDL
18/19 - WWW (National league south)
19/20 - LLL
20/21 - LDL

So excluding National league south (6th tier) matches our record since 2006/07 is 4 wins, 9 draws, 16 defeats.

And the 15/16 ‘festive’ wins were such a shock that we decided not to win from 9th January to 16th April to compensate.

I went to that game at Wrexham on the 9th jan. I thought we were the best thing since sliced bread. We were absolute horse sh*t after that. what a bad season that turned out

Yep. I remember the 2-1 loss to Welling near the end of that season. I don’t think Welling had won for about 6 months before that.
