Ooh dear - although to be fair the headline probably misrepresents the content a little. It's a wake up call for Weymouth and almost everyone else saw Woking as dominant, stronger and should have won by more. The defense won their headers, the midfield bossed things and Josh was MoM and also won his fair share of free kicks!!! To be fair he did that in the South as well. It was one of the most comfortable 1-0's ( if 1-0 is ever comfortable) in recent years. Weymouth lacked pace and punch up front. Were we really that direct? I thought we played through midfield well to build

Watched Notts County and Altrincham last night and Alty played some lovely passing football to feet but were out muscled and County were simply strong and clinical in the final third. As Dowse would say its all about 3 points and I struggle to see how weymouth will get enough goals

Also watched the Shots highlights and all 3 goals were from set pieces with few chances created in open play. As I said its a wake up call for Weymouth and, I suspect, Altrincham but not a good look from Weymouth to be moaning when they were so well beaten

No one likes us, we don’t care.

If he thinks we’re masters of the dark arts, he’s gonna learn a lot this year!!

"Do I think we should’ve won or got something from the game? I don’t know"

The answers pretty easy pal, no. Thoroughly outplayed in every phase of the game.

Pile of bollocks, Weymouth tried to play the most compact football I've seen in a while, and got munched by us, struggle to see where they'll get points this season

How can you possibly say we were direct?

Napa scared the living fuck out of the lot of them!

Our tenacity in midfield was admirable, but we weren't lumping it forward at every opportunity were we?

I think he's getting us being direct mixed up with their goalkeeper being a flappy flapping flap-flapper with a first class degree in flapping.

Direct! Pfffft.

Their highlights are absolutely comical too! Don't include the potential handball, the potential foul on Cooper in the box, the ball off the line or a multitude of other chances. Just a random viewing of both teams slicing chances wide. Nice of them to include our goal at least although I wouldn't be surprised if they'd have left that out too.

Please say we have our own highlights as I'd actually like to see what happened with the penalty shouts...

what a random set of highlights!! It was them with the long throw and basically confirmed that they were toothless. I would say good luck to them but their manager has put me off.... It was as easy and comfortable 1-0 you will ever see..

Is that his first ever football match or something?

If he thinks DIRECT is playing with a lone striker who’s 5’7 I think he may be in for a bit of a shock this season.

“Could have gone 1-0 up”. On what basis? That they managed to enter our box once?

TBF I think if their players had stopped fouling our players, and stopped giving away corners, we wouldn’t have pumped so many crosses into their box.

If our midfielders had stoped pressing theirs out of possession and if our defenders hadn’t done heading and tackling - and if their players hadn’t kept kicking the ball out for goalkicks- it might’ve been more even.

They skewed one across the goalkeeper and reached the bye-line once, but that was it.

At the other end their keeper looked like a catflap on crosses so I think if the Woking outfield had been Stephen Hawking, Kenny Sansom, Antman and The Seven Dwarves we’d still have put it in the mixer...

Ho hum. Good luck Weymouth.

Is Slavi actually 5 ft 7? I agree he's short for a lone striker, but i'd say 5 ft 7 is a bit short based on the player I saw. Fifa has him at 5 ft 6 (!) but the 5ft 11 on the Football Manager database looks more accurate to me. Point still stands though - not a big lump up front by any stretch...

Ah fair enough. A search online indicated he was 5’7 which I went by having not seen him beyond the streams.

But yes, we haven’t gone to him nearly as much as we used to with Hyde.

If Mr Stock gets all out of shape about tuesday, god help him if they go 1-0 down at home to Halifax or some other northern outfit. Their levels of 'Shithousery' will have him reaching for the razor blades

I appreciate they were Southern league 2 seasons ago but they have some quick learning ahead

Have to say though, reading through their forum, most of their fans viewed the performance/result the same as we did on here.

yep - it's only their manager doing an Alex Ferguson. All their fans saw the game for what it was.

Make that three 1-0 losses in a row for them. No goals all season.

They’re one team who will definitely finish below us.

My mate who is a Wealdstone fan thinks they’re already fucked too. That leaves only one more club for us to finish above!

Slight overreaction as they’ve played Stockport and Yeovil in their 3 games!

Interesting that all that promoted sides appear to be struggling - one win between them. I'd throw Dover in the mix too after their summer shenanigans. Bar their freak win over Notts County they've been roundly stuffed so far. Can't see them picking up many points. Maidenhead will be down there again too. Honestly think we should be looking up rather than down.
