the one with the bleached hair had definite balance problems
I'm not sure what motivated that look, but he did seem a lot like a little Ric Flair, especially when he threw himself over.

Fabulous upturn in form. Really couldn't see that coming from anywhere just a few games ago. Credit to Doyle.

A long way to go but is a draw a good or bad result?
Another point, after the last few games, is a bonus. We've gone from looking desperate to looking competitive.

And he's got the fear now - "pull your finger out son or you get sent back to Braintree!"
The football ground is comfortably in the worst part of Braintree. An ex-colleague lives there and it genuinely wouldn't be out of place in mid-Surrey, without the hills.

Getting desperate are we?
Not sure. Apparently the signs for desperation are lurking on other team's forums before 7am at the weekend. Can you let us know if we ever get that desperate?

Who actually gives a shit about the SSC? There’s usually about 100 people in attendance when we play.

I’m still annoyed Dowse started Diarra against Chertsey in the SSC and he got injured.
Charlie Wakefield and Alfie Pavey. The last round of the SSC was the pinnacle of their Woking careers.

Re: We are actively pursuing goalscorer!...

How not massively prolific? Because if they aren’t prolific what’s the point? We already have decent but not prolific forwards. It's all relative, isn't it? Are you holding out for Langstaff or one of Wrexham's top scorers? He did well in a side that got relegated. Quite pacy and powerful IIRC, so ...

Re: Tuesday thoughts & MDs Record so far

Sarll being sacked with no plan in place was scandalous. Even if Dyer won some of those games he was never going to be the long-term solution to getting us out of this league, upwards. And then there was the Thanksgiving holiday. You're underselling the general feeling after Ramsgate and then Oxfor...

Re: Tuesday thoughts & MDs Record so far

Got to love the mention of Wakefield in this thread. He's played well once in his time at the club, against a team multiple leagues below us, in the SSC. He's unlikely, even if fit, to make a matchday squad before the end of the season unless we suffer another injury crisis. Absolute clusterfudge of...

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

Effiong scores two for Dagenham to nick the points v Dorking. When he left, I was quite pleased, wanting an upgrade but in hindsight maybe we should have kept him . There don’t seem to be too many of that striker mould around , he might have really got a good partnership going with Amond . He'd hav...

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

We should have signed him instead of Pavey. We should've just not spent 30k and waited for a better option. Especially as he was going to take '6 weeks' to get up to speed. BINGO. Wrong player at the wrong time, to the wrong club. We needed a FL fringe player who would hit the ground running. It sc...

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

Genuinely thought he'd do better at Dartford. Decent sized budget in that league and his record at that level is/was excellent.

Best of luck to him in finding another job. It's probably the first club that he's been at, that he hasn't left in a far better position than when he took over.

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

Morgan Williams returns to AFC Wimbledon. Saw that earlier. Looked a talented player, but really not the time for that sort of flair player to be coming to a team sliding down the league and lacking in confidence. Had a couple of really good games and I imagine in a few years, he will be a decent F...

Appearances/goals/assists

2023/24 Lewis: 19 apps / 3 goals / 2 assists

2022/23 Lofthouse: 40 apps / 4 goals / 0 (zero) assists
Wouldn't Lewis be a replacement for Daly? Lofthouse played off the other side.

Do the comparison with Wankfield.

If only Sarll hadn't gone mental in summer 2023 and had made a proper effort to keep one of our most promising players.
