Re: Toby Edser

Edser was pretty poor by the end. He might have been carrying a knock but I wondered whether his head had gone - reality biting after being on the baller gravy train (and that’s not a slating of him, it must be brutally hard when you stop being a promising talent at a big club and start looking down...

Re: Away fans in season 2020/21

The government are encouraging us to go to work and holiday, and you can even go on a big group holiday to some places still, so barring local restrictions I don’t see that they would ban away fans directly. A consideration is that total capacity will be affected by whether you have away fans - if w...

Re: Twenty-eight years ago today

I don’t think lack of ambition keeps people away - after all success always plateaus at some point. These days there are so many things people can do with their time, and £18 to watch level 5 football in a shabby ground just isn’t all that attractive. I think the club are absolutely right to concent...

Re: Twenty-eight years ago today

“ The club will die eventually if we don’t progress” Why? I hope Stu is not offended if I accuse him of hyperbole! Which is what I infer here, based on his general attitude. Although given the abuse he gets from certain posters, I am sure he won't mind. If you stand still, you are going backwards i...

Re: Twenty-eight years ago today

Yup. Bigger and Stronger Boys. Yet we’d embarrassed Merthyr, and beaten Bath and Kiddy in previous times, and had a very free-flowing team. One can’t help but think that decimating that genuinely exciting team but retaining the physicality of the likes of Bradley Pratt may have been a bit extreme, ...

Re: Season Tickets & Match pricing

Reminds me of some rich people supporting labour In the last election saying “they’re happy to pay more tax”. Why don’t you then? You can always pay more if you wish, you don’t have to wait to be asked. If a thousand tickets are sold at £20 instead of £30 me chucking in an extra twenty isn’t going ...

Re: Season Tickets & Match pricing

I don't think any loyal fans should be priced out of attending games for personal financial reasons. As has previously been said, there are ways for fans to make additional contributions to the club if they're lucky enough to have some spare cash. There might not be enough tickets for all the ‘loya...

Re: Season Tickets & Match pricing

There seems to be a lot of people refusing to understand that this is a survival situation!! If the club doesn’t survive then it doesn’t matter whether casual fans come back or not (though considering how our attendances go up and down it’s more to do with results and style than price). Doubling is...

Re: Season Tickets & Match pricing

I don’t forget that some people will struggle to pay the money, but then some will struggle to pay a tenner - you have to draw the line and the club need to bring in at least as much gate money as last year. The big advantage of not selling season tickets is that it’s much easier to reduce prices if...

Re: Season Tickets & Match pricing

the question isn't 'Would you rather be priced out for a season, or get to see a few games and then none as the club folds?' but Do the club want to price out the fans that can turn up occasionally?. A lot of fans work at weekends or cant make Tuesday night games due to work, but have purchased a S...

Re: Season Tickets & Match pricing

How many away games do you go to?? I'm in full agreement prices should be increased until the world recovers from the pandemic, but if anyone thinks doubling the price is acceptable they can absolutely FRO. £20-£25 for an adult ticket seems about right. If people want to pay more, the Reboot option...

Re: Season Tickets & Match pricing

I don’t see why a priority membership needs to give a discount - you are buying priority and belonging, not a discount scheme. Unless you make it £150 and a £5 discount/refund per game. If the game doesn’t take place or is closed doors you get a fiver credit, and if you quickly say you aren’t going ...

Re: Ex-Cards - May 29th onwards

Howes looked frightened when he played for us. A keeper needs to be arrogant, otherwise they are never going to recover from the inevitable mistakes.

The way Edser’s form tailed off for us I assumed he had already been told he wouldn’t be getting renewed.

Re: Ex-Cards - May 29th onwards

You mention Inih and then I visit BBC and read this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52994025 Still feel they should have walked off and abandoned the game. Would have had a much bigger impact. It has to be walk off despite the score line not walk off if you’re losing. Then you give dickheads ...
