Sutton could be top when we play them

Re: Bottom Eight, False Position.

I totally fail to see the link between Cheltenham going top and never letting up vs whether we are currently in a false position or not. There's a link to your Torquay comment there as he's doing it again. They wouldn't be top if results didn't matter at this stage. Hopefully we can land one on Sut...

Re: Bottom Eight, False Position.

8 of our 10 games have been against the bottom 8 teams, are we riding a false position courtesy of the fixture computer, or are they in the bottom 8 due to us beating them and we are that good? I can't decide. One sure way to find out is the Sutton game. Many times have they served up our backsides...

Re: Bottom Eight, False Position.

Not a false position, but league positions mean nothing at this point in the season. We could still go down and the teams in the bottom five could still win enough points to take the title. It’s all too early and too tight to draw many conclusions. Anywhere in the top half this season would be a ph...

Re: Match Thread: Dover Athletic v Woking

Its not as easy as that though really. Loans are normally either young players that the parent club want to get some time on the pitch, or sometimes an experienced player that is coming back from a serious injury, as was the case with Glen Rea last season If, in the case of young players, they do w...

Re: Match Thread: Dover Athletic v Woking

The biggest midweek away win in the League I've seen Woking achieve was 6-0 on Tuesday 21 August 1990 at Basingstoke Town. I can't recall anything bigger than this since. I saw Woking win 7-0 at Hertford Town in a lg match in 83/4. I think it was only me, the Tuckey brothers and possibly Bob Cummin...

See - https://www.wokingfc.co.uk/news/article/7249/john-katz-joins-the-board/ I'm going to call this.... for whatever his reason is for joining Woking, KC is the missing link. Re: FA Cup 1st Round

What a team in those early 90’s If I remember rightly as Trophy winners we automatically qualified for Round One Proper which accounts for three. Great to remember these happy days, and to me it shows how important the Cup has been in the development of the club - I’m only pleased I was too young a...

I’m only pleased I was too young and didn’t see us lose to Hayward’s Heath back in the days WFC could only dream of reaching the 3QR never mind R3 Proper! This!! We even lost to Hailsham Town, and I used to play for them so know how bad they are!! Hailsham, we were drawn away but their ground wasn'...

The early 80s were not good in the FA Cup, in addition to Hailsham & Haywards Heath we also lost to Wick, another side from the Sussex League and Kent League Chatham Town.
Wick, 2-0 down by half time, Keith Beckett pulled one back, Lance's arse couldn't produce an equaliser. Att: 188.

FA Cup 1st Round

Blame this on the lockdown and only Europa Lg footy on tv. This is the 107th season Woking have entered the FA Cup. This is the 31st time Woking have reached the 1st Round. 23 times in the last 34 years, we were born at the right time. In 30 seasons: W 14, D 12, L 15, F 60, A 77 (1 decided on pens)....

Yemi Odubadi stuck one past Sam Howes. By stuck one you mean the defender kicked it into his face from a few yards out, but they all count ;) Yemi was a fantastic player. One a lot of people wanted us to sign over the years and very much lived up to the hype. A little known fact was that he has a C...
