Re: Number of streams sold

I mean if we're claiming we're selling the away club streams too then it's probably spot on... 'you only stream 'cus it's Woking'...

Re: Best Miss You've Ever Seen

Raph Nade was always to be relied on for an embarrassingly comical miscue. One of the unluckiest strikers I've ever seen, because even on the rare occasion that he did everything right in front of goal he'd miss somehow.

Re: Number of streams sold

Couldn't it be cheekily inclusive of people who watch the highlights!? Which admittedly recently has probably not been many. Doesn't specify live streamers.

Re: Your Personal Woking Hall of Fame

Yak marshalling us at the back, before getting crocked early doors, was the last time I genuinely believed we might be in the running for promotion to the league.

Re: Your Personal Woking Hall of Fame

Betsy, Sole, Selley, and Ricketts kind of stand apart for me in terms of players I saw enough of to be club legends in my time of watching. Feel like in terms of the last two decades they're a bit of a class apart... I'd probably have Kieran Murtagh, Jon Boardman, Joe Mc, and Craig Ross among the ne...

Re: Match Thread Weymouth

Fair enough, I've extrapolated the quoted 250k (that later became 300) to the idea they have a 2-2.5mil budget (which they don't yet but likely will do shortly) so neither is quite the case. The truth, looking around, is likely somewhere around 6 times our budget (and probably only slightly less tha...

Re: Match Thread Weymouth

As mental as our season supposedly being over after the capitulation on Boxing Day when we were two wins back from 2nd? As mental as being called little Old Woking for pointing out that maybe a team with a budget roughly 10 times ours is likely to beat us on their own pitch? As mental as constantly ...

Re: Match Thread Weymouth

As far as I remember we were 1 point outside on Jan 1st.

What a long four months it's been... but let's not forget there was similar unrest then as there is now. People wanted Dowse's head in mid-January. How mental is that?

Re: Match Thread Weymouth

Pretty simple. And that's not an end of the season thing, that's come January. I know this season was weird starting in October, and the last finishing in March... but when was a season decided on where you were in January? This season we were basically in the playoffs in January (but ofc revisioni...

Re: Match Thread Weymouth

So have a look at yourselves, if you are enjoying free games and not giving the club money, you can hardly moan about the fucking budget all the time If this is directed at me, I'm not moaning about it. I'm pointing to the reality of the very obvious discrepancy between what it will be this season ...

Re: Match Thread Weymouth

Given we're unlikely to get more than a pity fiver for Wareham, should we just not bother to talk about it at all then? Should we tell John Katz that helping us to double the budget won't make a difference either, as is being claimed? Funny how BtB contributors and season ticket holders love to shou...

Re: Match Thread Weymouth

I really can't believe we're still talking about a player's contract that hasn't been with us for almost a decade as though it's the current management's fault for it, or that they're supposed to enlighten us about it. Last week we were being accused of loose lips... currently we're (supposedly) neg...

Re: Match Thread Weymouth

Wondering how much a winning mentality is supposed to matter when the stated expectation of some fans is also that we blow up the squad and virtually start all over again other than two or three next season? Moussa is here for one more game & I really dunno why we're still risking Ross, I suppose be...

Re: Dowse and Rosemary's Catch-Up | Spring 2021

I want us to be a club who speaks when appropriate and whose manager doesn't say "It's not an excuse but here's a load of excuses about injuries at Hereford" Fair, and I think I mostly agree, but that's been made a difficult task this season, both for the board and the manager. Our captain was (imo...

Re: Dowse and Rosemary's Catch-Up | Spring 2021

Err... I feel like you've made my point for me, there... something that happens ~15% of the time is hardly a once in a lifetime. I never claimed it was a regular occurrence but it's happened enough and will, even with a top seven remaining in place, happen again. Obviously, the circumstances causing...

Re: American Investors

I was sceptical about the regional L2 idea (I think mentioned in the NLP), but a total restructure at this point would be much better in the long term for most leagues, and actually make being in what is currently League 1 mean a lot more, not to mention limiting long distance travel of away support...

Re: Dowse and Rosemary's Catch-Up | Spring 2021

Can understand most of this. Its as sober an account of the restlessness as I've seen... particularly the bit about the fact that if relegation was possible things would be in a drastically different place amongst the fanbase, 100% agree with that Glen. However But in reality, in between presenting ...

Re: Dowse and Rosemary's Catch-Up | Spring 2021

This video doesn't do anything for me. Rosemary and Dowse, as lovely as they are, epitomise the 'little old Woking' approach the club has had over the last few years in particular,  and I'm bored of it now. I get that the club believe we're the poorest in the league, our ground the most expensive t...

Re: Match Thread: Woking v Maidenhead United

Or we're doing Watford a favour given they paid money for him two years ago, and have an option on him next year, with the promise of future friendlies/loanees for us.

How many of those 100 will be free of charge?

Re: Match Thread: Woking v Maidenhead United

I'm quite surprised how the Maidenhead comms team feel the game is bereft of meaning to them too. Don't get me wrong, I expect the top 9 to remain unchanged, but if they win their games in hand they'll be in the playoffs. Also, it appears that Covid is the reason in their view for that gap being too...

Re: Dowse and Rosemary's Catch-Up | Spring 2021

I hope we're not having the debate after 10 games next season. I genuinely do hope we're playing a more attractive brand, even though I think that's far from the be all and end all in this league in terms of what works. I never disputed that the product could be better in many ways, just the notion ...

Re: Dowse and Rosemary's Catch-Up | Spring 2021

However, it doesn't explain the defensive and boring mindset of our team this season, you can set out to play a little more adventurously even with lesser players, you may get tubbed now and then but at least you could see what we were trying to achieve, this year we've just been trying not to lose...
