Re: Sam Evans

I think Dowse said he was injured in one of the catch-ups. May have been one of the academy interviews, if not.

Re: Formations for upcoming season... thoughts

Wouldn’t 3-5-2 be the strangest decision possible, in light of us signing an ex-England international who wouldn’t play, should we do that?

Re: Tommy Block

Don't forget Tarpey as well, he's 31. If you go back to the Limbrick season I think Richard Orlu was the only player over the age of about 24. One of the reasons, IMO, why we couldn't pull ourselves out of trouble when the going got tough. I think the current squad is a real nice mix of youth and e...

Re: Tommy Block

Is it really a young looking team? How old are the confirmed starters? Ross, Gerring, Casey, Cook, Ferdinand, Jarvis, Goddard????

I’m not complaining about the addition of young players, but I noticed last season (including Poku, Moussa and Hyde) that we are quite an old side.

Re: Toby Edser

Toby’s trialling at Aldershot at the moment, wonder if we could nip in there and poach him? Wonder if. dowse wants him. His last spell with us wasn’t great but I’d have him back in a heartbeat. Do we have room for him? Being honest, I’d take him ahead of Kretschmar, but I just can’t see where we ar...

Re: Presumably....

I’m guessing that the Saints under 23’s are viewed as being better opposition than Farnborough, which I find hard to argue with as I don’t know what league they play in (and whether or not they’ve gone bust or changed their name again). Agree with some though. The Farnborough tickets have been adver...

Is he the 'Championship' player Dowse was on about in his catch up yesterday? Thought he looked v sharp against Westfield but championship level is a stretch
Don’t think so, as he’s been on trial with us for a while. Didn’t Dowse imply that the Championship player wasn’t a trialist?

Re: Charlie Cooper

Only saw him for a half at Westfield, but he looked quite good, albeit against a team a few levels down. His CV looks quite strong, he’s got games at this level and it’s an area where we need depth (only really Ferdinand plays CM out of our current players) - so makes sense.

Re: Woking Programmes 20/21

I was under the impression that the purchase price of programmes sort of covered the costs of printing. If it’s online only, I can’t see advertising revenue dropping TBH - and if it’s free, it might increase the circulation, meaning we can attract more advertising.

There's no reason we couldn't be producing feasibility studies ect. ourselves in the meantime. You don't need to own the land to do that. But I appreciate the focus is on Covid at the moment. Who pays for that? The developers funded the previous work. You might have missed it, as there have only be...

Re: Messi

If social media is anything to go by, it seems that it’s mostly Chelsea fans who have an issue with Messi going to City, with lots of comments about his wages. What short memories these people have. They forget that before Matthew Harding’s millions and then Roman’s billions, their club was about th...

Gareth - this won’t destroy the game. That’s a ludicrous claim. Also, we are hardly in a position to comment on diving. One of our best players is a master at it!

Tired of people fucking moaning about what we dont have, try refocusing on what we do have and you'll feel a lot better TBF, it’s mainly two clowns. I’m all for calling for change when you have a clueless manager with no track record at Woking or elsewhere, but we’ve got someone who goes to clubs a...

Re: Westfield friendly

Trialling is a strange thing. You might have a bad game for whatever reason, and be great in training. We had Harry Beautyman trial with us several years ago, and it may have been the same time as John Goddard(who was not snapped up immediately IIRC), but we also had Betsy, Payne and Sawyer. He end...

Re: Westfield friendly

The quality centre back in the 1st half was Cole Kpekawa. Good in the air and comfortable on the ball. Would enable Ben to concentrate on heading it and kicking it if we could sign him. Need Diowse to weave his magic. I didn't actually see the leg tattoos during the game, which I assume makes me le...

He’d trialled unsuccessfully for Torquay and came to Woking on trial. Dowse signed him quite early on IIRC. Jokin...
