Re: Can we just stop the season now?

The comment about wasting money isn’t accurate. The costings for furlough potentially dwarf the amount the government paid last time and it would be the same again. Mandating testing etc... is a separate point and arguably the league or the government should have paid for this.

Re: Match Thread - Bromley v Woking

I would imagine we won’t see much more of Tarpey and Block. Loza arguably competes with Napa and Goddard, as he can play either side. No idea about Jarvis. I can’t remember when he last came on and looked interested. Have we played with Cook and Moussa as a partnership? In theory, they should be rea...

Re: Match Thread - Bromley v Woking

Next season wish-lists are never done well when the team is in bad form, but I think we will see a lot more than those three. Loza and Moussa (not sure how he doesn’t make your list - did you see THAT tackle?) are on contract and I think Cooper will be on the list too. Cook has had a good season, bu...

I think we can all agree that it was a good comeback, but that shouldn’t paper over the obvious cracks.

Re: Match Thread - Bromley v Woking

Ferdinand 4/10 Happens too often. One of the strangest players we’ve had at the club. Can look like one of the best athletes in the league, works his nuts off, finishes like a striker, excellent in the air and shows some outrageous touches. Sadly, when it isn’t going his way he’s too conservative i...

Re: Match Thread - Bromley v Woking

Paul Hodges would be our best midfielder if he was still here Carried the ball so quickly and made 40 yards in a few seconds. Our midfield now is so ponderous and doesnt create anything. That’s quite a rewriting of history there mate. He did that sporadically and often against a tiring part time de...

Re: Match Thread - Bromley v Woking

Got to feel sorry for Smith. The two closest players to him are Max and Kane, neither of which can manage a simple pass for him to do something with. Appreciate people like Goddard, but despite being “busy” he’s not actually doing anything. Strange decision for Dowse to neutralise the attacks down t...

Re: National League meeting update

It seems like the Euro Super LG is gaining traction, that should get rid of the big 6, maybe a few more. They can take the money, the agents and tv rights with them. FIFA has threatened to make players in a European Super League ineligible to play at international tournaments . For many of the play...

Re: Match Thread: Woking v Maidenhead United

I thought it was gash. Nobody can fault the effort of this squad, there are no passengers in this team. But yesterday was the worst 90 mins of the season. We didn't have a shot Worse than aldershot? KE has been known to exaggerate. It wasn’t the worst this season. It was boring. We had one shot (Sl...

Is Armani that good? I don't look at the Torquay web site but is he playing every game there?
He is better than we have (Dempsey might get better)and is young enough to develop.

Re: Match Thread: Woking v Maidenhead United

Balance isn’t right. Normally you’d have creativity from the three behind the striker, but Kane and Max get on the end of stuff, they don’t really create. Goddard was OK. Spasov created his only chance then scuffed the shot. Can’t expect Smith to fit in (or be fully fit) instantly, but there just se...

Re: Moussa Diarra signs 18-month deal

Rendell was slightly different in that we paid for his operation voluntarily. Then he left to join our biggest rivals. After having an affair a bar maid despite having a wife and young son. Allegedly. Isn’t it a myth that we paid for his operation? The PFA paid for his operation and the funds were ...

Re: Making our voice heard

Just a point - the grants didn’t come from the government, they robbed the Lottery for the cash. I may be wrong here, but weren't there two different payments? One from the lottery and one from the Government? The point about it costing as much to furlough someone as it does to pay another grant is...

Re: Moussa Diarra signs 18-month deal

Indeed. We'd all do the same. We must have at least matched the Havant deal, so Katz must be putting his money where his mouth is. Welcome back Moussa. Is Scott Rendell forgiven then? Not all of us went nuts when Rendell left. He moved to a club closer to home, where he already had connections and ...

Re: Moussa Diarra signs 18-month deal

Will be something for Cooper to aim at Our conf south back 4 it is then He will help Cook and Ferdinand too, as they won’t be marked by the opposition’s best header of the ball. Conf south back four, with a season’s experience in the national and Lofthouse, who will only improve IMO with more stabl...

Who then? Tarpey hasn’t even made the bench recently. Goddard started, Loza warranted a transfer fee in Dowse’ opinion, Dowse loves Max, Jarvis is Jarvis and there’s no point signing Napa if he isn’t going to play.
