Re: WFC TV | Woking 0-1 Eastleigh | Extended Match Highlights

I accept about Ross’ kicking but he was less error prone than Will. I can’t image him trying to head it while 25 yards out like Will did at Oxford. You’ve forgotten all the goals that just went through Ross? Not shocking errors but not as many saves as you should expect at this level. Well quite. R...

Re: Bromley (A) Match Thread

Good performance and a good point. An absolute sickener though. Chesterfield seem to be doing there bit to keep teams above water. Kiddy only 3 points behind now. Lose on Saturday and we’re in a fair bit of trouble. Win on Saturday and we can get the cigars out. Depends on how full your glass is!

Re: Updated run ins

Didn’t Aldershot provide the funniest play off moment ever when their manager was celebrating their win on penalties before the shootout finished…and before the Shots utterly choked it? Some of us may still have it saved as a GIF and pop it in group chats from time to time. Rendell cried that night...

Re: Alan Judge

It's six games, it's low risk. He's going to be desperate to prove himself and if he's fit he's going to add quality. Even if he manages 6 lots of 30mins off the bench to ensure we don't break anyone else, it'll be a good move.

He's quality on his day. Good luck.

Always hated playing Welling. Apart from the Dowse season when we beat them in the FA Cup and playoff final.
Ironic isn't it that the only time we worked out how to play Welling was when we had the most Welling style manager we've had in my lifetime.

Re: Do you enjoy football?

There was a game at Dover towards the end of the GOOD Garry Hill season when we were on a ridiculous run and were edging towards the playoffs. We went 1-0 up from Odubade then lost 2-1 late on when Brian Saah got sent off. Felt like a massive missed opportunity at the time. The last minute home def...

Re: Updated run ins

6 points should do it, hopefully less!! 6 will definitely do it. I think 4 will do it. There's now just so many teams involved in it that the likelihood of all of them getting to 51 seems far fetched. If the 21-23 placed team's games go to form this weekend, then you're looking at York getting 9 fr...

Very true JAM - but take Saturday coming as an example. Chesterfield are either going to be going into their home game needing a point to win the league, or celebrating for the duration being Champions backed by vociferous home crowd in party mood. They're playing? Boreham Wood. I'd fancy they'll s...

Re: currently watching

Keeps Wealdstone in the relegation battle for now. Huge game for them at home to Kiddy on Saturday. They've got so many games. Their fans are whinging about player welfare etc, they've clearly got a lot of spirit and should have enough points from their games already to scuff a few more. But they'v...

Re: Do you enjoy football?

Anyone remember Flakey laying on the grass behind the goal for most of the first half away at Basingstoke? Or Flakey going in goal away at Harlow, while the Harlow players took shots against him? I think he's been on the pitch more than off it! Unfortunately my abiding memory of Flakey on the pitch...

Re: Do you enjoy football?

Great thread and not just because of Growler's self-awareness epiphany. I don't really enjoy all football like I used to. The over-saturation of it on TV, the relentless wankathon over the BIG SIX, the seemingly endless European tournaments and managers complaining that their players want to play le...

I've spoken to RGC and know he is going above and beyond what the club can do for him to get his hamstring issue sorted. He is desperate to be back playing for the club.

Re: Tuesday thoughts & MDs Record so far

I think it's a bit disingenuous to say defeat tomorrow night and the fat lady sings. I admit, it will make the job a lot more tricky but it's far from over. Defeat tomorrow night and we're going to be 4pts behind anyone bar Southend, the damage to morale will be severe as much as anything else as t...

Re: Tuesday thoughts & MDs Record so far

As I say KE, I think it's more important we avoid defeat tomorrow night. If we lost tomorrow and won the two home games then our best case scenario we'd be 2 ahead of Ebbsfleet but potentially still a point behind them having used our game in hand.

I'm pretty sure we've never won there. Its a grisly place, at least it will be dark so we can't see to much outside Do they still have dead buses there ? I saw someone say that the other day and whilst I'm sure Doylie can provide evidence, certainly in the Conference/Conf South era I can't remember...

Re: Tuesday thoughts & MDs Record so far

Doyle will have had more than enough time to turn it around if we do go down. He would have needed about 7 wins from 23 matches (25 points from 23 matches) from the time of appointment. Plus he's been allowed to bring in half a new team - DKE, Dyche, Smith, Edwards, Luker, Kendall, Walker I broadly...
