Re: Dowse's Friday Catch-Up | 15/01/2021

If being part-time is being held up as a reason we turned in that steaming dog turd of a display on the 2nd Jan then I'm concerned. I think it was more of a comparison of preparation in general. We were shit because we were shit, he sounded pretty depressed in his post-match interview. Sounds like ...

  • Desperate to go full time. Little things that can give you the edge - Aldershot trained on New Years' Day, for example. We can't do that.

Re: Spasov and Lofthouse loans extended

The only difference between Garry Hill's part time setup and Dowse's part time setup is Garry's trained for a couple of hours in the morning and Dowse's train for a couple of hours in the evening . They both still only got/get paid 40 weeks a year, and both still had other jobs . That's what I mean...

Re: Spasov and Lofthouse loans extended

Garry Hill and his squad were full-time in everything but name for the most part, I understand Dowse's implication. Is it just me who is wholly underwhemed by the idea of full-time football? I know stu will say I'm showing no ambition with that, but unless you've got a load of money (jury's out) and...

Re: 2002-2003 A season to remember......or not

It probably did save his job but that's probably why he should have gone! The football had turned and we all knew we'd skanked our way to the final in truth.

How many times did Gez save his job the following season?

Re: 2002-2003 A season to remember......or not

Whilst it might be fair to say that Cockerill didn't do much in 02/03 to warrant the job, for the next three seasons he was justifiably retained I think. finished top-10 in 03/04, were legitimate playoff contenders until the second to last game in 04/05. 05/06 it declined and he should have gone aft...

Re: Slough Town

Lets not make this political. In terms of the football club we need to pay players wages and keep the club going. Therefore playing games provides steaming revenue -although does anyone know actual numbers ? Is this revenue worth it ? Most young players are not at risk if they get it but for me the...

Re: Wrexham

OK, so your approach is don't start the Conference irrespective of anything else on the table. Got it. I have yet to really see you explain why despite asking directly, I don't think that "common sense" is an answer when leagues above and below the Conference were to be starting.

Re: Wrexham

You've constantly said it Adrian and forgive me if I'm wrong, but I have no recollection of you explaining why. 84000 and rising. And this unfinishable charade continues. Ridiculous I was hoping for an explanation but I think I can work it out from this, correct me if I'm wrong. You don't think the...

The season should never have been started, as I’ve constantly said.

Re: Wrexham

Seen on Twitter that some teams without games this weekend are trying to play other teams without games as a way of catching up, or getting games due a few months down the line played and free up space. Seems Notts County are the first to put their heads above the parapet for this one. I don’t thin...

Re: Interviews

The funny thing is it's the very same people who were fawning over Davison a few games ago who are now throwing their toys out of the pram because we have a few good loanees (everyone seems to like Dempsey... I'd argue Lofthouse has been our best player the last six games). One player I’ve not hear...

Re: Woking 0 Aldershot Town 1 | VNL | Match Report

I respect anyone who has to write a report for that game,... Perhaps you could have left it at that. What would you (and others) want to be done about it? Ask the reporter in question not to bother again? Maybe put yourselves forward as candidates to report in the future? Anyway, my thanks go to Ca...

I get that it's all voluntary, no I don't have any intention of doing it, but that report is not the football match I watched on Saturday.

Re: Interviews

I've been confused reading this forum since Saturday about why people are ragging on the loan players so much. The notion that they don't care as much is a bit mad considering Dempsey/Davison/Lofthouse have all been here a while and specifically on Saturday, you'd be hard pushed to blame any of them...
