Re: Your Personal Woking Hall of Fame

An uplifting thread, THE cup run does it for me, specifically a rocking Kingfield against Merthyr, Biggo in his absolute pomp sending those “Welsh animals” as Sir Alf would have said, home.

Cheers Sussex, my first few years were on Moaners , I recall Chris’s battered straw trilby, I had a chat with him recent in Woking town centre. I think his Dad was my history teacher at Fullbrook

I was at that Barnet game was it 4-4, FACup?
I remember the crowd parting with some poor soul on the ground
Didn’t a chopper land on the field behind the goal. I never knew who he was until now so cheers.

Re: Eccentric characters on the terraces

Doylie, yes the guy in the Para beret sat in front of me in Family, I used to see his Land Rover parked up in York Road near the hostel
He was a dead ringer for David Niven in Guns of Navaronne. He wore khaki shorts when it was freezing, bet he was hard as nails.

Re: Eccentric characters on the terraces

“Wasnt his name Kenny ? That scarf must have weighed a ton !” Yes KE , Kenny thanks. It was convenient that Addlestone and Cards were/are red and white. The guy who “loses it “in the LGS was targeted by Watford fans and it became quite nasty, luckily stewards stepped in. We sit in the Family Stand a...
