v Notts County (Storm Dennis)

Post by Basketcase (WFC) » Thu Feb 13, 2020 3:27 pm

Whats the likelihood of the game being called off due to Storm Dennis over the weekend. Met Office shows estimated gusts of 50-60 mph in Nottingham on Saturday at KO time.

It's not looking good, which is a big shame as I'm sure a lot of us have already invested in transport and hotels. Just hope if it is off they offer a refund to those that pre-bought tickets.

Will wind stop the game from being played? Small chance of rain in Nottingham between now and lunchtime on Saturday and we'll be playing at an ex league ground with decent drainage. I think we'll be fine

Guaranteed that these hardy northerners will try their hardest to ensure the game goes ahead no matter the storms about!

No real reason why high winds would get the game postponed.

The only wind related cancellations would be on risk of serious danger to the stadium/local area or potential danger to fans at the stadium.

I am hopeful that the game will go ahead. BBC Weather yesterday had Nottingham as "Strong winds and heavy rain" which has now downgraded to "Strong winds and light rain showers" as we get nearer to the day. Will be nice to at least not get drenched en route from the car park! COYC

They were saying on the radio this morning that tomorrow will be nowhere near as bad as Sunday was.

We'll be fine.

Adrian should realise that anything above Chichester on the map is North to us... Woking: i.e. bloody northerners
