I lumped on in the week at 9/1, Ks currently winning 2-0, even that Theo Wasisnameious bloke’s scored!

Just seen some highlights on the Beeb, Barnet losing to Fleetwood at the Hive, there appears to have been a fire drill as there doesn’t seem to be anymore there at the moment.

Dover 1 - Fleetwood 0 (FT)
Macclesfield 0 - 4 Kingstonian
Orient 1 - 2 Maldon & Tiptree
Wrexham 0 - 0 Rochdale

Seems like all the upsets have been saved for today, though I'll have jinxed at least one of those teams to mess it up now!

Jorome Slew now has 20 goals in 20 games for Maldon & Tiptree, and he missed the first five games of the season. I wonder if he'd be worth a punt for someone at our level (or National South at least).

Seeing as he’s part time, and we are the highest placed part time team in the country :) we could try and get a decent striker with Hyde rather than Meite

slight correction as Dover - was vs Southend. Great goal from Slew too. Also liked the look of the guy who got himself sent off. Do M&T have a right back?

Aye cracking goal from Slew. Fairytale stuff.

Parrish was the lad who impressed most (& got the red card).
Let go by someone in the football league for being too small but he looks a decent little player.

that was him - deserved the second yellow just for claiming it was cramp.... looked lively. But as we have seen many times before a lot of players have a worldly in their televised Cup Final.

Regarding Macc, if the players had turned out they may have won the prize money that went with progressing to the next round, cutting off your nose to spite your face comes to mind.

If you hadn’t been paid for your work, would you turn up to attempt to win your company more by business even with no guarantee of receiving what you’re owed? They’ve also been paid late on several other occasions

I would probably try to get a guarantee via my union to make sure any prize money went to the players first, otherwise no I wouldn’t turn out. Maybe they tried and failed.

Could be working the angle of trying to secure a breach of contract situation, then they are free outside of a transfer window for other clubs, could turn out to be a shrewd manoeuvre if it comes off.

An Employer is in breach of contract if they fail to pay your wages.

All those Macc players would be free to leave now. They are also uninsured

A bit like Ebbsfleet not paying their players, their insurance and medical cover bills

I never fully understood why there was a whip round for Rendell, was he uninsured and if so why?
I’m sure someone has the details.

I stand to be corrected but I understand our players are not insured because the cost of doing so is enormous. I don't know what insurance the Macclesfield players have, the report doesn't say what and it would be interesting to know what.

Is there a difference for full time players - an expectation that they are covered by the employer?

Player Insurance is mandatory in the EFL but not so in Non League. Very few clubs in Non League would have player insurance due to the high cost
