Gave a complete cock and bull story that he was struggling for family/compassionate reasons with being too far from his Northants base - Woking to Northampton = 80 miles. The club admirably released him from his contract which he'd not long signed.

The next day he signed for Chester (Splash the Cash) City, with no doubt a dirty great signing on fee. Northampton to Chester - 152 miles.
