Re: our official statement.
Dagenham let the club know at 10.45am or was it the League? The wording is confusing.
That really tells you how spineless D&R think the League is if they let us know first - and a damn sight earlier than four hours prior to kick-off would have been welcome!

Official statement from Dagenham which contradicts what we put on our website:

https://daggers.co.uk/news/-M2ZB1CljMylP4w9q_Wp

If the Dagenham statement is true, then why couldn't our Saturday statement announcing the postponement of the game mention that it was due to a couple of Dagenham players showing symptoms of the virus? That wouldn't exactly have been controversial under the circumstances, and it would have explained why the postponement was so late. Something doesn't add up.

It’s called arse covering.

Anyway does it matter now. The important issue to WFC fans (apart from the obvious) is how are we (as fans) going to help to ensure WFC gets through the next few months of inactivity and no income.

If you can't join the dots on this one then it's going to be a long few months for you!

Got something in mind Mr T? If so count me in.
You are right we have to look after ourselves first and ensure there is a club in a financial state to come back to. Players, staff and bills still need to be paid.

Does anyone know if there is a direct payment facility either to the club or the Cards Trust to make a financial donation rather than a donation site that takes a percentage?

Not sure if it’s feasible in terms of admin, but I pay the club a set amount each month which Jan kindly invoices next season’s season ticket/shareholder contributions from. It means the club gets my money up front and also saves me having to go without stuff when the relevant costs come in. If others could do that, it might assist with cash flow in the coming months.

Why should anyone have to join dots? This isn't Cluedo.
It should be about professional communication, not rabbit-in-the-headlights dithering.
Does it matter now?
It might if this is a sign of announcements in the future.

Why would you join the dots in Cludeo?!?!

Ok - the reason we didn't say it in our statement is because Dagenham didn't say it to us. I would agree with the arse covering suggestion elsewhere.

If they had a couple of players with symptoms, why didn't THEY say that at the time?

Andy T and spitfire, spot on . We need to do whatever we can to keep the club going for future generations. I am certainly in.

Just in the process of putting something together but to be clear the club is not in financial difficulty like others. The plan is to try and compensate for the lack of income caused by enforced closure and keep the wolf away from the door.
Anything not used could always go to next years (?) Boost the budget and all proceeds to the club.

Love all these creative thoughts and energy about the club's future.... just a request to hold fire for now so we can coordinate the best response for the future of the club

Over the next week or so football clubs will be assessing their own internal response but also liaising with the National League and wider football world. Obviously some clubs have already had to make immediate and drastic decisions

It was heartening to hear from the League that Woking is considered one of the best run and we were already in the middle of a pretty forensic budget exercise. However the future will be extremely challenging for all businesses.

Our request would that we hold all our energy and thoughts and together as club and fans we have a coordinated response when the time is right
