We didn't know shit until Matt Jarvis ran out in that friendly. Once he did that the cat was clearly out of the bag. A very pleasant surprise for all and well done to Martin Tyler and Dowse for getting it done. Confirming what everyone now already knew in a newspaper article is hardly controversial. Now to get it over the line, f@@@ me do I hope to see his name on the team sheet Saturday morning.

I think Dowse said he has another scan on the hernia next Wednesday...

yup, saw that in the official catch up notes from Chobham. Interesting though how Matt/the club chose to risk 90 minutes or so in a friendly before confirming via scan that an alien isn't going to burst out of his stomach. Fingers crossed the scan reveals that he should only play part time football until May.

Can anyone confirm if the second scan took place yesterday?
I'd have hoped to have heard something by now if it did...

2nd scan revealed a tear. Talk of a pain-killing injection - if it works, he could be training next week.

Hmmmmm I don't think a pain killing injection will help a tear!

Aren't we asking for trouble signing someone with an injury like that?! Are we that desperate... oh...

The question is where is the tear??

A tear in a hamstring for example can't be fixed quickly by an injection.

The other issue is what further damage will he potentially do by playing on with a tear?

So he hasn't signed yet?.
That's a shock, nor have Messi and Ronaldo, both as likely

so why play in a friendly before any of the scans and before results were known? Seems to be a silly risk to take.

I work for Sky Sports News and Matt was a guest on the show this morning

I spoke to him in an ad break and asked him if/when he was signing - ' there's a possibility' was all i could get out of him

Dowse is hopeful that he take part in the game against Westfield. Nearly 90% etc
Calling offsides before they happen since 1992.

Why can't we just sign a player and then announce it?

This happens far too many times either in the press or from Dowse himself only to then find we couldn't get it done
Just like very other football club in the world you mean?

Disappointingly naïve from somebody of KE's standing.

the guy is fucked . What’s the point in any interest? I’d rather we sign gez on a pay as you play contract. Bring him on if we get a free kick in the last 10 minutes or penalty !

Why is there so much mean girl negativity on here? Where is this pompous entitlement coming from? Bizarre.

The point is that, even if only 90%, the bloke could be the new Kevin Betsy, and dare I say it played at a higher level than Kevin for a sustained period. With our budget not sure we can have the arrogance to reject such an opportunity.

Hopefully all goes well and Matt signs.
