If we get battered tonight, just remember on the drive home that there's probably a Bury fan somewhere who booked a holiday with Thomas Cook to cheer themselves up.

Did they really expect clubs that they owe money, to happily admit them back debt-free with a smile on their face ?

Anything else just sends a message you can overspend, dodge your debts and wipe the slate clean far too easily

The correct decision has been reached. I'm not even sure if the club's future is actually safe yet? Have they been taken over?

Too right.

We have heard rumours that we gained our promotion unfairly, one wonders how our Club, fighting for its life for the last 11 months, c£17m in debt, the threat of losing our Stadium, enough stat demands, winding up orders and CCJ's to paper our offices in, bailiffs every other day, having to choose between paying threats that could close us or wages was an advantage?

Cheerfully ignoring that it was the size of the wages that both got them promoted and made them a complete basket case.

Victory for common sense, a rare thing these days.

NWCL for them then, if their lucky!

Looks like they could be in this league next year, or at worst the NL North

They could end up anywhere in the National League system, think with the Conference being renamed the National League it’s confused some reporters who just think it’s this league & NLN/NLS

I thought the phoenix punishment was a two league drop. Although that may be changed as they didn't start the season.

If it’s a Phoenix club my guess would be at Step 4 or 5, it certainly won’t be in the National League.

Both AFC Wimbledon and Aldershot Town restarted in the lowest level of regional Senior football; The Combined Counties League. For fairness and consistency the reformed Bury FC should restart at Step 6 (North West Counties League Division 1). What happened to Bury should be a warning to all football clubs, not only about ownership, but also chasing a dream that could kill your club off. The best guardians of a football are its supporters.

Cant really compare AFC Wimbledon as they never went bust or folded. They just got stolen.
The true incarnation of the original started life in the Seagroves Box League... tier 8 I believe

Being pedantic Aldershot Town actually started off in Division Three of the Isthmian League back in 92/93 which is probably equivalent to the CCL Premier these days.

Salisbury had to re form all the way down in the Wessex League in 2015.

I think Halifax reformed at Step 4 of Non League (rather than 5).
