When Jake did play for us, I was disappointed. Admittedly it was only a few games. No surprise to see him at this level. He'd get nowhere near our midfield 4 would he?
He had pedigree but got injured and then chucked out at Crawley, loan to us probably suited everyone - he gave us a further body in a key area in the run-in - then got injured again and disappeared. He wouldn't get close to the group we have for the coming season.

Agree about the quality at bottom end of L2, even more justification for 3 up/down.

I'm happy to put money on this not materialising into a FL career. YouTube skills, maybe, but not a FL career.

A three-year deal as well. Barnsley seem to be taking a chance lately on quite a few non-league players...

Let’s be honest how the hell has he managed that I mean fair play to him but a 3 year deal at a league 1 team in unbelievable I expected him to join a team like Maidenhead

We’ll be passing Barnsley on our way up.
A bit of a basket case of a club, that is their support talking on a forum I’ve read.
Good luck to him, but they’ve been bailed out and have no money.
Interesting as he wouldn’t get into our side.
Just hope he gets paid.
On loan at Scunthorpe or Scarborough by Xmas.
Looking forward to see everyone again at Kingfield, soon.

Big step up

Hope it does work out for him. Honestly thought he was going to be turning out for Oxford City

Fair play to him but Barnsley must be in some serious trouble having seen some of their recent signings.

Who’d have guessed that Lofthouse would be playing a league higher than Daly next season?

Great move for him. Had a mixed season last year, but has everything physically and technically to succeed. Bags of talent - I was hopeful that another season under DS could see him become a superstar, but a move two leagues up is too good to turn down. Best of luck to him.

We can hopefully have him on loan if he needs to find more inspiration as winger player. Innit?

Seem to remember according to some on here a few weeks ago he'd be playing NLS next season...

I imagine he'll probably be joining someone else at our level on loan for some of this season.

Based on last season, he offered as much as Tyreke did the season before. Kyran has all the attributes. Clearly didn't fit in to what Darren wants/needs.

Good luck to him. We're better off without I'd say.

Ye err... The rather key difference is though Tyreke struggled getting looks in a team that everyone on here acknowledged was rather toilet to begin with. Lofthouse was kept out by the best squad we've had in 20 years that finished 4th in a league where Wrexham and Notts broke near enough every record... Personally I don't think there should have been much shame in being variously kept out by the likes of Daly, Browne, and Kellermann given the seasons they all had.
