Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

Not sure of the timings, but after he left us, I’m 99% sure he was working at Fullbrook - assisting the Monday night five a side league. He occasionally played too. Pink Panther or Irby Card might be able to confirm.

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

Spoke to Gwynne Berry this morning. Still looks very similar to his time at the club around 29 years ago. Very complimentary about the club and still gets back when he can.

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

Pleased for Ross and Joe. A little surprised that Joe didn’t go to another CN team, but maybe part time is what works for him now. Best of luck to both of them, aside from two league games for Rossy and potentially a cup game for Joe.

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

Was worried he’d gone another level down. Don’t think I’ve heard of Chippenham since Charlie Griffin. Good luck to him. Not sure if it was a lack of pace after injury or a lack of confidence that held him back. I guess he signed to play left in a 4-2-3-1 initially last season and then didn’t have a ...

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

My memories of late 80s visits to Worthing involved hours (probably 15 minutes) in the arcades before the game. My two kids would be delighted with that.

Wasn’t it Worthing who we got Tim Read from?

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

You'd need Aldershot to remain as godawful as they have been all year while a couple of sides below them noticably improve. As much as I'd love to see them binned to the NLS, they only need a point a game to limp up to 49, which guarantees safety most of the time. Maidstone and Oldham are two of th...

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

Good luck to him. Looked better (aside from the Eastleigh game) at left back than when playing on the wing. Just didn’t take his chances. Looked like he had a quality cross on him, but more often than not didn’t beat the first man. I guess Moss/O’Connell/Lofthouse/Johnson would be cover if needed at...

Re: Ex-Player update: May 2022

Chris Bush released by Bromley I know he’s quite chunky, but he’s always looked one of their best players. Decent on the ball, in the air and has a long throw. Appreciate Casey’s in good form and our two centre backs have been excellent, so not suggesting we go for him, but still a good player abou...

Kabamba is CF who we played on the wing. We're much better this season, so is he. Everyone wins. He also had games up front. Just didn’t look interested. Had all the attributes - decent touch, quick, tall, got chances - but just wasn’t convincing. Missed some Amondesque sitters too. A far more conv...
