Re: Matt Jarvis signs a new deal

Basically we needed him to be managed by a manager who liked a brown paper bag or two and who took personal interest in getting through as many transfers as they could reasonably hide.

Sadly we got the “Steady hand at the tiller“ and the player’s brother-in-law rather than a George Graham type :-(

It’s Stevenage the cheating scum, nothing to see here keep moving Folks. This. How fair-minded and cuddly we Woking fans are! Let’s all plait each other’s hair with daisies and frolic through the meadows of Kingfield together, holding hands with our Stevenage friends as we go... Face facts: In any ...

Re: A Personal Statement from the Chairman

Let's all just take a sec here. How many people can honestly say that if that development was proposed within 1000yds of them, they'd have been in approval? I for one wouldn't have. It would be a nightmare, aesthetically and in terms of strain on local roads. My mum. Well within the kilometre. She ...

Re: Woking FC Reboot - help strengthen Dowse’s squad

I’m no tech or accountancy whiz, and my initial thought was “But there’s VAT payable on tickets...”, but it seems to be a simple variation on “just-giving“ with a league table added for interest. It’s ways to give cash donations in parallel I believe but the nerds bigger brains amongst us will know ...

Re: Planning committee outcome

Yup. I always wondered how the Hook Heath/Egley Road residents felt about refusing the club to move back-in-the-day and ending up with the constant disruption of having a Mahoosive Skool there instead.
People of Swag beware. There’s always something worse!

Re: A Personal Statement from the Chairman

I freely admit to having no knowledge of planning regulations, laws etc but from what I am told by people who work in the planning sector this application failed on some very basic planning regulations and policy and it seems the vote would seem to support that. A very bad night for WFC. I think ap...

Re: the above post replying to GardenGareth (too many quotes in it to re-quote): See those stands? They’re a hundred years old in 2 years time. They’re fucked. It’s going to cost money to refit or rebuild. If anything has become clear over the last 20 years it’s that WFC cannot afford it! This schem...

Who was arguing for the 150-300 Woking families in temporary accommodation, the people at the back of the doctors' queues, the green belt and the numerous community groups and charities? This x1000! Bob, you are so right. I deal with housing issues (in a very minor way) and there is a housing disas...

Re: Planning committee outcome

I am still sshaking my head. If you want to support nimbyism be honest and say so, but there was a lot of spurious nonsense in that meeting. I won’t forget Councillor Morales’ concern that a lift at a doctors surgery would cause such problems because she has kids. Madam, don’t go to St Peters - or a...

Re: Planning committee outcome

I found it extraordinary that rejections came through traffic and street scene. The traffic officer APPROVED the scheme, the PLANNING. Officer approved the scheme, but apparently people were more concerned about bungalows and prospectively failing lifts!! Sit in the fifty foot high LGS and look to y...

Re: Woking FC Board update – The Woking Community Stadium

There are two sides to every issue. Are there two sides to every issue here, Boyband? I’m not sure that one side has played particularly fair. The football club and applicants have to put their proposal forwards, cards on the table, “balls out” if you will. Yes, planning drawings always look pretty...

Why no promotions to fill bankruptcy gaps? Clubs will need the gate money from as many games as possible
Because that way Stevenage stay down. If Macc go bust a nanosecond after the season officially ends it doesn’t matter. They’re suffering us at Bogroll Way again ✌️

Re: 10th place finish

I’ve just revisited the table. 10th is brilliant. I know it could’ve been better but it could’ve been so much worse! Other than maybe Stockpot (comparably massive in NL terms), of the teams finishing above us, there were a lot of clubs throwing away a lot of money to get only a few more points than ...

The provision of “affordable housing” is a real driver here, as you know well, Potatoes. The economic boost of building and occupying an extra 1,100 properties plus a sustainable business providing both sport AND leisure (with potentially a medical practice thrown-in) PLUS two blocks for (for instan...

Well, if He wasn’t before now He will be even angrier if Stevenage don’t get relegated FOR THE GOOD OF THE GAME!
He needs to pull His ineffable finger out and GET IT DONE!
