Re: 'National League vote to immediately end season due to coronavirus crisis'

All it really says is that they may cancel all remaining fixtures, and the papers are only speculating on what that would mean for the league table. Doesn't make much sense to promote Harrogate in 2nd, when they'd normally have to go through a playoff anyway. I can see Barrow being promoted and Stev...

Which blocks were those?
The ones at the BHS building and Big Apple, which is surprising. However, both had few (if any) affordable housing. I have a feeling this will help, not hinder, our scheme in Kingfield.

Why 3rd April - predicted peak isn’t til after then is it?
Just void the season now and let the clubs get on with slashing costs for self preservation
Agreed. If its suspended until July/August could we release players now, as they're our biggest expenditure? If not, how long can the club last?

Re: Statement from Woking Football Club

I want the best for our club. However, this statement is really terrible. It's obvious to everyone why the game was postponed - there's a pandemic. The national league bottled the decision this weekend to postpone games. The financial disruption to our club is unfortunate. But what is more importan...

Re: Statement from Woking Football Club

Good to know. It will have cost us a fair bit with staff, programmes, food, ect. already in place. Dagenham should be expected to front those costs at the very least, or we should be awarded the points.

If it isn't segregated, you can probably stay at least 5m away from anyone on the away terrace.

If anything its going to be worse in April, not better. Look at Italy, 2-3 weeks ahead of us. Better to play games whilst we still can.

I hope it's on. There's not really enough reason to postpone. The virus can't spread very well outdoors and players shouldn't be at any higher risk than any other workplace.

The outcome of today's cobra meeting? Absolutely fucking nothing. If you're over 70, don't go on a cruise. Season will continue as normal for now which is good news.

Re: Development Catch-Up

even if you could there would be no use for the space they take up the rest of the time (i.e used once every 3 or 4 years, unused space rest of time). with a smaller stadium, what facilities would you want to remove - the medical centre, the retail units (both a source of club income and a much nee...

Re: Development Catch-Up

Agreed, the directors stand and family stand are the key ones particularly as they're the ones that contain the players and press facilities. 40k sounds like a lot for the amount of work needed on the LGS, but I appreciate it probably hasn't been fully costed given the focus is on the new stadium, w...

Re: Development Catch-Up

Secondly when you say a single 3,000 seater stand do you mean one to replace the old stands along the side where the dressing rooms are? If so what do you expect will replace the LGS? This stand now costs a fortune to maintain, isn't really fit for purpose and will probably lose it's safety certifi...

Nah, the takeover must have happened. They weren't in a position to renew GH's contract precisely because of the imminent takeover, remember?

Re: Woking fans – support our new stadium regeneration

Take a look at this link Andy. Granted, a 20% reduction in the market price or market rent won't be enough for many. Affordable with a capital A doesn't mean affordable for all. I don't know what type of affordable housing will be provided here, but given the councils involvement I hope some is for ...

Re: Woking fans – support our new stadium regeneration

Personally I hate the term 'Affordable Housing' because there actually isn't a definition of what affordable housing is. Ultimately what is definitive is that housing in the south east (and especially London) is very unaffordable and out of the reach of a large amount of people (especially our youn...

Re: Woking fans – support our new stadium regeneration

That is in no way a rejection by the planning inspectorate. I'm not sure what SWAG hope to achieve by claiming it as such, but its very dishonest. Am I right that their (the planning inspector) role at this stage is only to examine the draft site allocation plan? Its not their job to assess the appl...

Re: Woking fans – support our new stadium regeneration

If what is rumoured about upcoming maintenance requirements is true, we could be playing in a half closed stadium because certain parts have been condemned. Given there's little infrastructure in two sides of the ground, it doesn't take a genius to work out that the condemnation of the remaining tw...
