Re: Dutch Documentary - A Week In Woking

Dowse is a gift to the club. I really struggle to understand any criticism of the guy. It’s very obvious that he gives absolutely everything to the club and community. He’ll make mistakes, all football managers do, but his commitment is above and beyond. We’re lucky to have him. You didn’t go to Su...

Re: Dowse's Friday Catch-Up | 10/1/20

i must admit i hate watching the football Dowson produces each week' the general quality is very poor and the league in general has dropped a notch, i long to see some quality midfield players. The three best teams i've seen are Barrow, Harrogate and Notts County, we were lucky to beat the first tw...

Re: Woking fans – support our new stadium regeneration

It needs to be a football ground for a football club. A huge point being massively neglected. Look at Halifax rattling about in a ground designed for the Halifax Blue Sox rugby team The Shay was built to accommodate Speedway. Halifax Blue Socks RLFC played at their own ground, the wonderful, Thrum ...

Re: Dowse's Friday Catch-Up | 10/1/20

Our attendances are relatively good - https://www.thenationalleague.org.uk/match-info/attendance-tables - so all should take the positives from that and get on and watch/play/manage as they see they see fit and not worry too much about perceived negative aspects. It's all generally going pretty wel...

Re: Woking fans – support our new stadium regeneration

This Rugby business is a bit of a Red Herring. That Rugby club is going to play here? There are no “local” premiership Rugby Union clubs whatsoever. Woking Rugby Club would have no need of this facility. The nearest Rugby League team have a home in Ealing. I’d suggest the word Rugby is on the plan b...

Re: Who Would Win - Nineties, Naughties, or Tens???

Betsy would make the Second team for The Nineties, he played in 98. Arter and Sole, both decent but would only make the stand by list. I know he's a nob but Rendell was definitely better than Sole. No, Sole, as people will be reminded in the Goals of the year series that has started, was very tidy ...

Re: Who Would Win - Nineties, Naughties, or Tens???

The only player from the noughties who would get anywhere near the nineties team would be Ater and from the tens maybe betsy and sole. That nineties team would walk this pile of poo league. Betsy would make the Second team for The Nineties, he played in 98. Arter and Sole, both decent but would onl...

Re: Who Would Win - Nineties, Naughties, or Tens???

The Nineties team, light years better than anything since.

Also the second team for The Nineties would be just as good.

Re: Dutch Documentary - A Week In Woking

Thanks. As it's quite similar to German, which I understand, I found the Dutch subtitles very useful when Dowse was being interviewed. Same linguistic family, if you understand German and English, the majority of Dutch or Afrikaans is fairly intelligible. The Belgian dialect is even more straightfo...

Re: WFCTV | Woking 1 - 0 Chorley | Match Highlights

Yes George Freil, absolutely on fire for the season he played for us. It don’t know why he left, perhaps money or Geoff didn’t fancy him in the Conference. Went to play for Slough, left them and joined Peppard!! He was exchanged in a swap for Colin Fielder. He went to Slough and scored seven goals ...

Great result, what was needed. A very big crowd for the figure given. Two weeks to sort a few things out and get over any minor bumps and knocks etc. Opportunity to get some fresh faces in and have a couple of training sessions so they can gel with the others. I’d have taken that at 1458 today. Stil...

Absolutely outstanding today, a real leaders performance, trying to get everyone going, screaming at others to put in the effort required, he was first to every ball and a real engine throughout. The guy was brilliant! Not a bad game overall but can see why they're so low in the table! Hopefully th...

Great to hear Nippers like yourself hate the Filth as well.

I’ve always implemented the “Three Goal Rule” if needs be and will continue to do so
How many comebacks have you missed on the basis of the three goals rule? Genuine question. I can only think of the 3-3 against FGR.
Not a question of comeback missing.

Re: Total Embarrassment

WTF? He makes mistakes, yes, but he’s got a team with a tiny budget within ten points of safety by Christmas. We are in very shit form, but that comment is ridiculous. It is a bit over the top, but today Dowse chose the formation. Dowse picked the team. Dowse decided what the tactics should be. Dow...
