Re: Last Season, Really good and really bad

Good 1) That penalty rebound by Kendall vs Kiddy. Felt like it went in slow motion as it rebounded up off Dibble's hand. Such a key win at that point against what looked like a relegation rival. 2) Berkoe's goal vs Dagenham. Couldn't work out whether it was in or not until it came down off the bar....

Re: Keep or cull?

I'm fairly sure Ashmore is out of contract at Boreham Wood. He won't come cheap, but if we could land him he'd be the best keeper we've had since Nathan Baxter. In fairness to Will he's looked a lot more confident and composed in recent games. Doyle has figured out a way to use his strengths by enc...

Re: Keep or cull?

Ismail Yakubu and Scott Rendell were 2 years if I recall - sure there were others as well. Them getting injured showed the risk of 2 year contracts... I think they were still one year: Rendell: https://www.wokingfc.co.uk/news/article/5009/six-agree-terms-for-next-season/ Yakubu: https://www.wokingf...

Re: 20 seats on the CLT

I think the problem is we don't even offer the basics. Below was from a Southend fan: "The catering options when we went were dreadful. Hot Dog or Nachos That was it. Not even chips" Is there actually any cooking equipment over there, or do they take stuff round and keep it warm (which some other g...

Re: Keep or cull?

If anyone's frustrated by the players they'd consider deadwood being contracted til the end of next season, take a look at York's retained list . Two points below us with a worse GD and yet they've got TWENTY THREE CONTRACTED PLAYERS for next season. I'd be terrified. Jesus. Shows how much this lea...

Would they be mad enough to give it to Dowse?, possibly Sarll though who I presume couldn't take a team till seasons end?. Snarls a possibility surely. Definitely not Dowse and been amazed that certain posters seem to think he should get an ambassadoral role cos he's mates with Boz. Err he's a Gate...

Re: 20 seats on the CLT

Logistically we have our challenges but treat away fans how we would like to be treated. Decent food and beers on offer should be the minimum. Does anyone really expect "decent" food or beer at football, especially as an away fan?! It's a burger/hot dog etc... and whatever beer is available. I thin...

Re: Player and fan connection?

I think some of it was embarrassment and not wanting to be seen to celebrate a poor season! Yeah - agree with this. It's difficult to get a balance between acknowledgment of a poor season vs seeming happy/relieved that we stayed up vs Aldershot's winning the league style celebrations when they stay...

Re: Keep or cull?

There is always talk of how much players are paid, in this thread there is a comment of get rid of Ince because of his wages, I have no idea of what sums are involved, what are we talking about here? £500 to £1,000 a week? I don't know about exact figures but it will be more than £500 a week. We we...

A Fylde fan on X/Twitter seemed less impressed: "For the @AFCFylde fans who went to @wokingfc we surely experienced the worst hospitality for Away fans in this year’s @TheVanaramaNL. There was no cover from the weather, just a few seats thrown in to an open standing terrace, and minimal food choice...

Re: 20 seats on the CLT

Was weird wasn’t it. Why would we need netting to make sure home fans can’t get 6 feet closer to away fans who are already miles away? At least the ‘sterile area’ on the KRE was gotten rid off though. The overall arrangement worked well though. We probably only need to give the LGS to Southend and ...

Also bin that "Free From Desire" dirge.
"Rhys Browne's on the treatment table" doesn't scan anyway.

I guess it’s short notice and tickets may have already been sold but it seems a little unfair that the team in 5th gets a bye but Alty in 4th still have to play an ‘eliminator’.

Re: 20 seats on the CLT

If you allow migration then you need to stop our boisterous types dropping stuff on top of the away fans in that area. It’s a fair way down. Probably be a risk that they might push up against the barrier to goad away fans and it presumably isn’t designed for that. Don’t think shrugging and saying “...

Re: 20 seats on the CLT

Just in front of the toilets. An exciting day already. But why were the final rows of seats in the LGS covered? If that to make a neutral area, it is, with any due respect, pathetic. If anybody felt the need to start up trouble with or harass anyone occupying those seats they’d have to pass quite a...

Re: Match Thread Fylde H

Just occurred to me that our generosity to York last week kept them up and binned off Boringwood. I’m pretty happy about that. We were generous enough to give away 6 points to them both. I’d rather Ebbsfleet had done down than Boreham Wood although not too fussed. Please please can Braintree not co...

Re: Attendances

There is no problem with the reserved seats in the LGS, the problem arises on games where migration is allowed. I have a ticket for Moaners, sometimes I fancy a sit down and pick one of the non reserved seats in the LGS. So far so good, but then someone on line or at the gate might well have bought...

Really enjoyed that. Maybe only the 2nd home game this season where we were comfortable and could enjoy the last 15 minutes without worry.

Feels like it’s been agesss since we’ve had the last game of the regular season at home without playoffs etc.
