Is there any southern club who Rendell HASNT played for now? Is he going for Jefferson Louis’ record?

Re: Dave Tarpey signs a new deal

Thing is Dowse doesn't seem to like 5 at the back Eh? We started the season with five at the back and tore the league up for a month, even when we didn't actually play three centre backs. I absolutely remember a few games with 5'7 Josh Casey at LCB, with Tyreke as a wing back in front of him. I qui...

About as good of a part time player as you can get in the National League - happy with that.

Re: Matt Jarvis signs a new deal

9/10 million hopefully hes got a yaer left ...anything much over 1 million would be a surprise. Bournemouth might want him in championship Yeah, no-one is paying £10m for a 30 year old with 1 year left on his unfortunately. It does say on Fulham's website that it was a 1 year loan 'with the option ...

Re: The Way Ahead with Social Distancing?

Pubs and restaurants aren't a necessity either. Is everyone who enters a shop, pub or restaurant tested to confirm they are 'safe'? We have always had a a doctor present at our matches, were you complaining about them being taken away from more pressing matters then? Pubs etc, pure Whataboutery mat...

Re: Dowse's Friday Catch-Up | 03/07/2020

just our running costs last season would have eaten into it What about the money set aside for when we were meant to groundshare for a couple of seasons? Surely that can now "responsibly" be used Won't that now be needed to do the necessary upgrades to the current ground to keep it in working condi...

Re: How local supporters could get the planning permission granted!!

Charlton were refused permission to redevelop the ground, something WBC haven't specifically refused in itself. Charlton weren't proposing to include a massive overdevelopment of housing completely out of character with the local area. Charlton and Millwall were able to mobilise a lot of local supp...

Re: The Way Ahead with Social Distancing?

Based on that logic everywhere would have to close because you can't go to places in the "traditional fashion". Everyone has to adapt at the moment and football should be no different. Football matches aren’t a necessity. Have a think about how it would be practical to ensure a team of part time pl...

Re: Financial Controller opportunity

What worries me now is that the club was one win away from the play-offs on the pitch - while all off-field energies were being poured towards a floored and desperate development. 1,000 flats in an area where 200 is the maximum allowed! That is two years we can't get back. If the FA Cup run windfal...

Wouldn't think his body would stand up to full time football
Plus he's 30 in a couple of days and the last time he got double figures in a league season before joining us was 2013-14.

I'd be very surprised if a better team than us came in for him.

At least the treatment table will be free for the other players to share
He wasn’t too bad in terms of injuries last season.

The season before, yes. But I think that was partly down to Dowse calling players pussies for not wanting to play through injuries and rushing them back.

Re: Ex-Cards - May 29th onwards

Not to mention a 3 month stint in prison. Over rated? Maybe. Under rated by some. We should never had signed Josh Payne then? Trust no one clamours for his return. Anyway, as a footballer on the pitch, Effiong has proved himself at this level. That is not in doubt...no coincidence how poor we were ...

Why?
Why do we need him?

Over rated carthorse, who is let go by club after club, even when he actually does what his paid to do.

Got to ask yourself why, perhaps the Ross County incident is typical of his behaviour?
Not to mention a 3 month stint in prison.

Presumably on fairly high wages at Kings Lynn and may be out of our price range. Would be a good signing though. And that that reasoning is why we will never be promoted! Re: When could/ should the new season start?

That would restrict us to around 2,000. In that situation I would expect us to restrict entry to season ticket holders first. Consensus was we sold around 1,500 season tickets last season so something similar this season This does represent a bit of a opportunity for the club- If you have to have a...

Re: Ex-Cards - May 29th onwards

Still feel they should have walked off and abandoned the game. Would have had a much bigger impact. It has to be walk off despite the score line not walk off if you’re losing. Then you give dickheads the power to get games abandoned. Maybe suspend the game for 15 minutes which would annoy other fan...

Re: When could/ should the new season start?

Seeing the 'protesters' in London over the last few days, it seems like gatherings of 1000's of people standing next to each other have already started. The difficulty with capping crowds at say 1,500 is that your penalising clubs that fill their grounds. Teams like Boreham Wood, Solihull etc would ...
