Re: A Personal Statement from the Chairman

As this is a planning application I think I'll go with the definitions used by planning authorities across the nation Tiny point, but I think the word village has also been used during this process in the traditional, non-planning sense, when I don’t think the area is a village, but, rather, a bit ...

Re: Planning committee outcome

Something doesn’t add up here . The Planning Committee will be aware that WBC owns 65-81 Westfield Ave and some property along Kingfield road adjacent to the ground . These properties will have been bought with the knowledge that Kingfield would be redeveloped at some stage : the question being wha...

Re: Planning committee outcome

Is there any merit in flipping the plans, so that a new stadium is built on Egley Road and the Kingfield site is used purely for housing? Would this reduce the height and density of the housing to a sufficient level? I’d have no problem with popping round the corner to see us play... Then people in...

Hindsight is a wonderful thing I guess, they rolled the dice and lost, sadly they will move onto the next project leaving us fans with what might have ...

Re: Planning committee outcome

From the response from the chairman it sounds like no one on the council could give a shit about Woking FC and no replan would make a blind bit of difference. Didn't we know this before we entered into this? It sounds like we were just being used as political pawns to make weak minded failing counc...

Re: Planning committee outcome

It was depressing to see. The public benefits reasons in favour appeared to have little support. Talk of creating a "slum" and an assumption that Woking FC will just be able to carry on, including continuing its community work, whatever happens. I had perhaps naively hoped more weight would be give...
